Doctor Who Review - Time Heist (S8, E5)

So the last time we saw some stealing being done on the show since its revival, was briefly in the 2009 Doctor Who Easter Special "Planet of the Dead" which despite not being the sole premise of the episode at the time, I thought was very good. This time around, its time for The Doctor and Clara to go GTA V and Sly Cooper as they very well rob the bank. So let's take a look:

So following from last week's episode, Clara decides that she wants to go on a second date with Danny Pink, but The Doctor tries to have her do a bit of sightseeing instead. The Tardis phone rings and upon picking it up, the duo find themselves in a chamber with 2 other people with the phone changed into a memory worm. The 2 other people, Psi (a hacker with an argumented brain, played by Jonathan Bailey) and Saibra (a humanoid with shape-shifting abilities who wants to be more human, played by Pippa Bennett-Warner) have also lost their memories due to memory worms and the 4 of them are told by a person called "The Architect" that they are to rob the bank of Karabraxos which is the most impregnable bank vault in the universe with numerous levels of security. Knowing that they cannot return until the job is done, The Doctor and the team prepare to rob the bank so they can return home, with a few twists and turns along the way.

So we've had quite a few things now in this series that I've felt were quite interesting, creative and epic and with this episode, those are the things that I think about when it comes to this episode and its a good one. Now obviously there is an unlikely chance that we would get an episode quite like the one we got last week in the very same series, but despite that, I enjoyed this episode a lot as it had a lot of great things going for it and I hope we get to see more of this sort of thing in the future. 9/10
