Now something that sounds a little familiar. A film about someone wanting to sell a beloved acre of land, but may be persuaded otherwise to not go through with it. This has been seen dozens of times before, with the most famous and adapted of these things being A Christmas Carol. Business just sometimes lack the Christmas spirit and are only in it for the money and not really understanding what the holiday is all about. So let's see if this scenario works for this film:
New York based businesswoman Jules Cooper (played by Nikki DeLoach) hears about her grandma's festive theme park and inherits it. As she goes about what to do with this newly acquired land, she has the difficult choice of picking either to sell the land and return to her old life or stay and bring the land back to life. Either way, she may make some new friends, find love and all that jazz along the way to her final decision.
Yep, I'd say the scenario is done well in this film. But coming from someone who has seen many of these kinds of films, I hate to say it, but I find the story predictable. However, very rarely has there been films about festive theme parks or any theme park for that matter, so I guess in a way, it has that going for it. The acting is alright, but expect a bit of cheese here and there. 8/10
