Kingdom Hearts III Predictions

Updated on 24/09/2013
OK, I know its a long way before this game gets released, but seeing as a number of people have speculated about it, I thought to do it as well. So here's my predictions for the game:

Worlds:
For worlds, the series has gone over many of the animated Disney films and some of the live action ones (including Tron and Pirates of the Caribbean), but while there are still many of them to go through, Square Enix have yet to touch on a worlds related to Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and The Muppets seeing as Disney now own these franchises and companies. Its possible for some of these (such as Thor, A Bug's Life, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc, Ratatouille, WALL:E, Up and some of The Muppet films) but for others (such as Toy Story, Cars and Finding Nemo) it could be impossible to do, especially if the console they go for has restrictions to what the game can and can't do. Other worlds that could have the potential of being seen are worlds based on The Princess and the Frog, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, Wreck-It Ralph, Roger Rabbit (the last two may only be seen if the licensed characters in the films can be used), Brave, The Emperor's New Groove, Pocahontas, The Jungle Book, possibly more worlds that have a version of Mickey who is aware of becoming a Key Blade warrior at some point, Tangled, Chronicles of Narnia (however due to recent events, this would be unlikely), Treasure Planet and the list goes on. Of course, with Disney and Nintendo having a good history together, there may be a possibility of Nintendo worlds thrown in and maybe give Mario a major role (confirmed to be released on PS4 and Xbox One so that's highly unlikely). Of course that sounds unlikely, but the possibilities at the end of the day are endless and if this game will be seen in HD, it will make the worlds look fantastic and colorful. As for returning worlds, that will depend on if Square Enix will do the film's sequels like in Aladdin's world which was based on the first two films but of course, we will be seeing some of the game's own original worlds at some point too.

Playable Characters:
As Yen Sid mentioned in the secret ending to Dream Drop Distance, a team of seven Keyblade wielders will be formed together to combat this new organisation and to prevent another keyblade war from happening. We know that Sora, Riku, Mickey, Roxas, Xion, Ventus, Terra and Aqua are currently the only keyblade warriors that we know of and Roxas and Xion are out of the picture due to Xion being made from Sora's memories and being destroyed by Roxas in 358/2 Days and Roxas has merged into Sora seeing as he was Sora's nobody. The fate of Terra is unknown to Yen Sid and Mickey while Ventus is currently in a state of reconstruction in Castle Oblivion (according to BBS) and Aqua is stuck in the Realm of Darkness, their hearts being connected to Sora's heart. As seen in the ending of DDD, Lea and Kari are put into training by Yen Sid to become Key Blade wielders making the possible line up of playable characters as:

Sora
Riku
Aqua
Ventus
Lea
Kari
Mickey/Terra (depending on the current state of Terra)

With those, we could also see party members coming into play which can come in the form of:

The many Spirit Dream Eaters seen in DDD with possibly some new ones
Donald and Goofy
Mickey (if not playable)
The main protagonists of each world (Thor if in his world for example)
Possible Final Fantasy/The World Ends With You characters as seen before

And the list can go on.

Which Console(s):
Each game released have been exclusives to only certain consoles while spin offs (like Chain of Memories and Coded) have been put on more than one console to make use of the technology on it. For KH3, the creators have stated that it should be on a home console and in HD. With the eighth generation kicking in slowly but steadily, it's a possible release for PS3 (due to the first three games and BBS being released on Sony consoles), it might be a possible release for Xbox 360 (due to their other franchises having games for that console) and it could be a possible release for the upcoming Wii U (due to some games being released on other Nintendo consoles). It's not for Wii (due to the limitations), portable consoles (due to the fact that they want it on a home console), PS2 (due to the creators wanting to make a HD game in the series) and mobiles (unlike coded, its far to big to become episodic). (As stated earlier, game is confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One)

Gameplay:
As far as gameplay is concerned, its most likely to have many of the mechanics seen in DDD such as switching to different characters at various points, the party members helping you out somehow, AR functionality and many mechanics from other games. It will be interesting to see if online gameplay will be involved because if it is, it could have a similar effect to the game's main story (like in Mass Effect 3). As far as enemies are concerned, that is unknown at this stage and the main antagonist will most likely be Xehanort as its the last game in the Xehanort trilogy.

That's all I can say on that, but we'll see what happens when the game eventually comes out.

Update: Thanks for the 100 views guys. :)
