Review of the Week

Alright this is the name of my weekly news round up posts where I'll be giving you a rundown of the week's news which will be more towards gamers, movie goers and nerds more than regular folk. So here's the news for this week:

Simpsons: Tapped Out arrives on Android
In the past year, TO has been a iOS exclusive until recently when EA announced that the game will now be on Android devices. The problem here, is that it won't be available straight away which has upset regular users but considering how things are going with it (especially with the recent Valentines update that causes 25 levelled players to not be able to go into the game and a few hiccups with neighbour visiting and a whole load of other problems), that's to be expected. All I ask for EA to do, is to get a better server going and try and be a better company that publishes better games than FIFA and numerous others.

Disney and LucasFilm announce Star Wars spin offs
Its been announced that alongside Episode VII, there will be some Star Wars spin offs featuring various characters such as Yoda, Han Solo and Boba Fett. How this works, we do not know, but what i do know is that Disney intend to release many Star Wars related media after VII, the original and prequel trilogies will be given the distribution rights to Disney in 2020 and for the most part, Disney are doing a good job with handling all these acquired companies in such a short space of time. Now if only we could have a Disney game that has Lucasfilm and Marvel's properties thrown in along with some Disney classics and you would get a very big game. Shame Square Enix haven't said much about KH3 and Disney Infinity will likely go as far as Pixar and that's it. But there's always hope.

Angry Birds cartoons to launch in Spring
After a few years of the hit App, it's creator Rovio have announced a cartoon series based on the game that will launch in Spring, but where it will broadcast is unknown right now. It was previously announced that a cartoon series would be made for fall 2012, but has been delayed and Rovio have stated that it's likely to appear in the apps themselves, rather than a TV channel. Now all I have to say on this, is if this cartoon series is to be made, then what the hell were those artistic cartoons on YouTube all about?

Harry Potter Cruise and Real Life Quidditch
As a fan myself, it came to no surprise that these 2 things could happen anytime soon. Princess Cruises have launched a Harry Potter themed cruise where many fans of the franchise can become students on a 4 night cruise made specifically for them (which I personally would love to go to). As for real life Quidditch, I really don't see how that can be possible, especially when trying to acquire a small flying ball that while possible in the world of Harry Potter, can only be possible in real life if someone had a RC one or went around the field with a golden ball of some sort. Either way, this has apparently come on the news and really, it's nothing for me to brag on about as it's already been said and done. End of story.

New The Tyranny of King Washington details
New details of AC3's next story based DLC have emerged. the last 2 episodes have been confirmed as The Betrayal and The Redemption and both will be released on March 19 and April 23 respectively on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, with unannounced details for the Wii U version. In addition to this, and as this is set in an alternative universe from the main game, Connor will have some new abilities including the Power of Bear for strength, Power of Eagle for speed, Power of Wolf for stealth, Warpoint to enhance his new abilities and the ability to use a wolf pack at you disposal. A lot of good stuff to come, just wish Ubisoft sort out the glitches.

And that's the rundown of the news this week so I now give you this week's film and video game releases:

Bullet To The Head (US Release)

So that concludes the news for this week.
