Mothers Day Special - RMR: Mars Needs Moms

First off, happy mothers day to all the mothers out there. Now I wasn't really sure on what to do on my blog to mark the occasion as I don't see or play that many films or video games with a mother and child relationship involved. This is the closest that I'm going to get to. Mars Needs Moms was the last film to be made by ImageMovers Digital as the company shut down upon it's completion and I think after this review (and what the video shows above) you'll know why. Anyway let's get to it:

Milo is basically your average child who wants to have fun, but can't as his mom always assigns him chores. One night, after a fierce argument with his mom (which ends with him saying that he wishes she never existed), his mom gets kidnapped by aliens who have made it their job to acquire the mothers of the world who cannot control their children, so that they can be used for their own young. Milo stows away on a spaceship so that he can rescue his mom and return home with her. But of course, he can't do it alone and gets help from another human who goes by the name Gribble who is a tech geek and in some respects, a hobo who did the same thing that Milo is doing 25 years ago and failed.

This film isn't that great. I find the CGI to be quite weird and creepy, the aliens themselves look like recycled monkeys, the film title is stupid (even if it's based off a book of the same name which by the way I haven't read) and it's just too much to bear. Comparing this to other animated films, this does not show anything great or innovative and it's no wonder that the company closed down upon the release. Avoid at all costs because it's stupid and shows every sign of being a bad movie. 6/10
