Review of the Week

Some stuff has happened this week but I don't really see it being that exciting, but we'll see:

SEGA News - A game for the West
A recently released PlayStation exclusive called Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F has had SEGA ask the world if they want it in the west. The game is basically a rhythm game and is the 5th entry into the series and is expected to have a large improvement in terms of gameplay and graphics than it's predecessors thanks to the power the Vita and PS3. I myself have never heard of this franchise before until now (and just so you know, I am into Japanese stuff, but not a super fan of it) so it's unlikely that people will want it, but we'll see.

UbiSoft News - Someone doesn't like whale hunting
As the next Assassin's Creed game gets underway for development, an animal rights group called PETA (or hippies as I like to call them. No Offence) have urged UbiSoft to get rid of the hunting whales feature as they believe that video games should and I quote "celebrate animals, not killing them". In a cheeky but true statement made by UbiSoft, they say that History is their playground for the Assassin Creed games and AC4 is the game that has their own take on the golden age of pirates. So what PETA are saying is hunting whales is wrong, so what about all those animals in AC3 that were killed for food and other things? Well, from my point of view, PETA have a point, but they aren't the ones creating the games.

Nintendo News - Miyamoto to Retire?
In some recent but not too bad reports, many people believe that the creator of Mario, Zelda, Pikmin and Wii Fit will retire from Nintendo very soon. The visionary games designer and one of Nintendo's top developers, turns 61 this year and has stated that he is working on titles for the Wii U and 3DS and will take one step at a time to prepare Nintendo for his retirement. Well, if he is leaving, he better give us a great game to remember him by, maybe another big Zelda game, the next 3D Mario title or maybe even Pikmin 3. Either way, the gaming industry wouldn't be what it is today without him.

And now I give you this week's film (cinema) and video game (retail and app) releases:

Movie Review - Inside Out 2
