Review of the Week

It's been a bit of a mix bag this week with some nicer weather (in the UK anyway), one of the greatest UK Prime Ministers out there passing away and everyone still feeling sad about the loss of one of the greatest film critics out there, Roger Ebert (myself included). But with all this happening, is there some other news this week? Let's find out:

SEGA News - Something Disney is in the works
This week, SEGA announced and teased that a new Disney game starring Mickey Mouse, is in the works. While we've been given little to no information about it, we do know that it will in some way be similar to the Epic Mickey games in that it will be very dark. The unnamed game, according to SEGA, is to be released in the summer this year. Having played the Epic Mickey games, I'm not really expecting much from this as of now, but we'll see.

Nintendo News - Third Party games for Wii U
Since the launch of the console, the Wii U hasn't had that many games released for it, other than the many ported games, New Super Mario Bros. U, Nintendoland, ZombiU and the recent LEGO City Undercover. Nintendo have said that they are aware of this problem and are urging third party developers to get their act together and thankfully, some of them have. Disney will be bringing out the movie licensed game Planes to the console as well as Nintendo's other consoles and of course Disney Infinity, both due for a release in August. Ubisoft will be bringing a Splinter Cell game to the console in August and have stated that Rayman Legends (originally due for release earlier this year and originally a Wii U exclusive) has been given 30 new levels in addition to the ones already made for it. A number of ported titles including LEGO Batman 2 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be coming as well, along with other titles too. So it seems that Nintendo are doing their best to give us the games, all we need now is some footage of the next Smash Bros. game and we'll all be happy.

DC News - Man of Steel To Have No Kryptonite Whatsoever
According to director Zack Snyder, the upcoming Man of Steel film will not have any kryptonite at all. Superman's one weakness and a film to not have that, is a little bit unusual if you ask me. In the majority of Superman related material (comic books included), his one weakness has been featured all the time and up until now, it has never been left out. Maybe this is Snyder's interpretation of the super hero which is understandable considering that Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy showed us a completely different Batman universe than what we're used to, and I like it (and no, it's not because he's the god damn Batman and its also not for his, Joker's or Bane's voice either, so there). Its also been said this week that this film will open the door to a new line of DC films, including the upcoming Justice League film which will come in a couple of years, should Man of Steel prove to be successful (I mean it's Zack Snyder, the one who did 300 and Watchmen, how bad can it get?).

And as I did a short recap of this week's other news, earlier, we now move to this week's Film (Cinema) and Video Game (Retail, Downloadable and App) releases:
