Review of the Week

This week has been an OK week with the exception of the bombing in Boston (my prayers are with those who were affected by the bombing) which means security will be tight for the upcoming London Marathon as  some kind of marathon was in Boston when it happened. Hopefully everything will be OK. So with that aside (and I don't mean that in a not caring way), let's see what's else has been happening this week in the topics that I talk about:

Nintendo News - More Announcements

In this week's Nintendo Direct (which I honestly think they should not name it something specific when they are talking about more than one console), a lot of announcements were made. The next instalments in the Mario and Luigi, Mario Golf and Mario Party series will all be out for 3DS in Summer 2013 for M&L and Golf and Winter 2013 for Party (both retail and from the eShop. The upcoming Luigi exclusive DLC for New Super Mario Bros U (which looks to be very challenging so be prepared) will be available in summer 2013. The 3DS port of DK Country Returns, which will have new challenges and has been remade to make use of the 3DS's features, will be out in May 2013. Yoshi's Island returns for the 3DS and while we don't have a release date for the next game in the series, the game looks very promising and I'm sure it will offer new challenges for anyone old and new to the series. But the Mario news doesn't end there as the next Mario VS Donkey Kong game, which will offer some new challenges for fans of the series, will be out next month via the eShop. Finally, the next system update for Wii U will be out sometime next week and it will address the issues with loading times, will add the ability to move data between 2 external drives, will allow the console to install new software that you downloaded while you play as well as when the console is switched off and will automatically download software updates when you start the app or game that you want to go to among a few other features including a more direct way to switch to Wii mode and the addition of Virtual Console will be added to the eShop, the day after the update and for each VC game, there will be a chance to play them only on the Gamepad and they all have their own Miiverse Community. I know there are a number of other things that were announced, but I've gone on for long enough on this, so yeah. let's move on now.

Family Guy News - Banned Episodes
It comes to no surprise to a lot of us that shows like Family Guy get banned or cancelled for various reasons. Most of the time it's just for the distributor to try out new things, but there are fanbases behind these shows, so yeah, you better watch out FOX. Anyway, an episode of Family Guy which had various clips complied together to depict the Boston Bombing, which went viral, caused FOX to pull the plug on a Family Guy episode, called Turban Cowboy this week. The creators, FOX and YouTube are finding out how this came about and they are very furious about it. My opinion on the matter is that, it's offensive  it's a very horrible way to show a real life event like that and honestly, no person should ever do that, especially as the shock is still wearing off a lot of us. As a blogger, I would never do something like that, even if it was just for fun. No.

And now for a wrap up of other news this week. Part 3 of the AC3 DLC The Tynarry of King Washington has Conner use the power of the bear in addition to the powers of the wolf and eagle, the Harry Potter UK tour gets the animal actors, a 14 year old unreleased SEGA console called Pluto comes out of the shadows for the very first time and some Simpsons writers come together to discuss the early days of the show.

And now for this week's releases in Film (Cinema) and Video Gaming (Retail, Downloadable and App):

Film:
Home Run (USA release with a unknown worldwide release)
The Lords of Salem (Russia and USA release with further releases in the coming weeks)

Video Game:
