Review of the Week

With a lot of announcements and some sad news, here's what's been happening this week:

Star Wars News - Shatner thinks its "fabulous"
J.J. Abrams has been put in charge of both Star Trek and Star Wars' future and the original Captian Kirk, William Shatner thinks its fabulous. Appearing in Entertainment Weekly Radio, he said that Abrams is the right man for the job and think its a good thing that 2 of the biggest sci-fi franchises out there are under his wing, despite the fans of the two not getting along (as shown in the film "Fanboys"). Personally, having one of the most iconic actors saying that, means that there is hope for the two ageing franchises if Abrams does them right and I too think it will be great.

Ubisoft News - Watch Dogs and The Crew delayed till 2014
After months of speculation, talks and playthroughs of these games, UbiSoft have decided that due to the sales of the latest Rayman and Splinter Cell not doing that well and because a lot of people will be investing more in the PS4 and Xbox One than actual games, they made the hard decision of releasing Watch Dogs (which they believe will be a long running franchise of theirs alongside some of their other titles) and The Crew in 2014 rather than as launch titles for the PS4 and Xbox One. This was due to the fact that the developers needed more time to fine polish and tweak them. Now even though this is bad news for some of us, some retailers who had people buying a bundle that had a PS4 and a copy of one of the games, have said that they are allowing consumers to get the PS4 on its release day and the game at a later date (although there are some alterations with that) which is great. Additionally, UbiSoft will still be bringing out AC4 for the 2 platforms before release day, so you will still be able to experience a UbiSoft game on the platforms.

And in a round up of other news this week, KH3 creators are planning to give players a more up to date experience in the upcoming game, Cars 3 may be in the works (you f**king idiots Pixar and Disney) but no official confirmation of that yet, Nintendo hates copyright infringement and takes down a website that is a copy of SMB1 (although that may be someone else doing that, but anyway) and also apply a minor update to Miiverse and Hans Zimmer (the composer of the music in Man of Steel) claims that he hasn't been asked to do music for the upcoming Batman VS Superman film.

That's all this week's news so let's now see the week's film and video game releases:

Carrie (Released in most countries with more to follow)
Escape Plan (Released in most countries with more to follow)
The Fifth Estate (Released in some countries with more to follow)
