Video Game Series Review - Plants VS Zombies

So for those of you who have one of the popular tablet or smart phones out there, chances are that you will have heard of this game. For those of you who don't, the title is basically what the games are and for the first 2 games, you play the role of the plants. Now some of you may be asking "Why are you doing this now when you can do one when Garden Warfare is out?". To put it quite simply, its coming out for all Microsoft platforms and PS3 and I have no intention of playing it as its a shooter and I think its a stupid idea and it forgets why the games became popular to begin with. That said, let's take a look at the first 2 games in the series:

Plants VS Zombies
Now it should be noted that both games do have some kind of story, but the story isn't really that great anyway (but the characters in it are quite funny so I guess that's something). So you get a garden where you can place all sorts of plants to defend your house from zombies on. Both the zombies and plants come in all shapes and sizes such as plants that can shoot things at the zombies and zombies with protective armour which can make things difficult. It follows a level based system and the idea is that you have to keep your house defended from zombies as the zombie meter on the top of the screen goes down. When it reaches a flag, this means that a huge wave of zombies are on the way so the house must be defended at all costs. Should the zombies defeat the plants, a lawnmower is there to stop them all, but once its used, its all down to your plants to defend the house. Another thing that you need to take into account is that any plant that you put in the garden, costs sun points. sun points are used for all plants and you will need plenty of them in every level. However there are some special levels where you don't need sun points and the system just gives you a random plant to use during the level. In addition, there is also a shop where you can use the in game money you acquire during the game, to buy more plants and other things. There is also a multiplayer mode and various minigames which are also pretty good. In conclusion, this is a very good game. It may be too simple and easy to play for anyone, but its a good game that can be played to pass the time and its got a lot going for it too. 8/10

It's About Time
The long awaited sequel to the first game, manages to give us new areas to visit, new zombies to combat and new plants to use. Now this may sound familiar as the game is in a way, similar to the Facebook game Plants VS Zombies: Adventures, but that's not a bad thing at all. You get to time travel to new areas and it has a level map where you need keys to unlock secret areas and new plants. The majority of the new plants and zombies are great and make the game even better than before, but the story is still not that great, but that's OK. 8/10

So with the series so far, its pretty good. its one of a few puzzling games that people can actually enjoy and it doesn't go overboard with what the title of the games is trying to do. Definitely recommend it for a game to pass the time with. 8/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
