Monthly Update - March 2015

Hey guys,

So winter is nearly over and spring will soon begin. Here's what I have planned for March:

So to start with, I'll be doing some reviews of a wide selection of films as well as another west end show and a couple of video game DLC packs. And because I loved the boxes first time around, I will be doing another Box of Stuff review with 2 additional boxes as well as Loot Crate and Nerd Block.

And the same old reviews, videos and song of the week posts will still carry on, though keep in mind that if some of you do wonder why they are not up on Fridays and Saturdays, just understand that I tend to live a busy lifestyle so I'm only able to do it when I have free time. Same goes to the other posts.

Now let's talk about something different to a theory, but still worth a mention:

Unfinished Business - Samurai Jack
Don't you just hate it when something ends abruptly without any form of closure given? Yeah I'm one of those people. Now in addition to theories, I will also be taking a look at any form of media such as a TV show that never really got the closure it needed before it ended and our first guinea pig, is Samurai Jack. One of Cartoon Network's more original cartoons (unlike the stuff they give us today), Samurai Jack was about a guy called Jack who becomes a master samurai and chooses to go and kill a monster known as Aku. The reason for this was because Aku destroyed the empire that Jack's father had for so many years and that he fears a sword that was in the possession of his father, now passed down to Jack. Jack goes to face Aku, but before he deals the final blow, Aku sends him into the future where he is the supreme ruler and sends monsters out to deal with Jack. As such, its then down to Jack to find any openings to get to Aku and finish what he started. So sounds like a very promising show and it was. Animation looked great and despite being put onto Cartoon Network's Toonami slot (which later expanded into its own TV channel), the story was great and despite the serious tone that it had, it still managed to retain Cartoon Network's signature humour. So what happened you may ask. Well as everyone knows, not every show can last forever and the show got cancelled with only 4 seasons and 52 episodes total, but the series was not resolved. There was a film in the works, but that got cancelled due to the lacklustre performance of the Powerpuff Girls Movie. So in a way, the show never got the ending that it deserved because of the channel only ordering 52 episodes through 4 seasons and in all that time, the show never had its story end and because the film isn't being made, chances are that we may never get to see the ending that the show deserves. That is, unless you're a comic book reader. Oh yes, the show may be over, but the story continues to this day in the form of comic books which if I'm being honest, feels the right way to go and the good news is that its not a complete reboot or remake as the comics continue the story from the ending of the 52nd episode of the show. But will it end the series on a satisfactory note? Who knows, but at least we know that the series is far from over and there are more stories to tell, even if its only in comic book form.

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
