Video Game Review - Pokemon Go

Yes, even I have gotten into the craze that is Pokemon Go. In my opinion, it is in some way the next logical step in Pokemon games. Giving us a chance to catch Pokemon using our phones. Sounds easy enough doesn't it? Well let's see as I review this thing:

So kind of like with the main Pokemon games, you have to set up an account with an avatar and what have you and then you can set out to find Pokemon. Now unlike those games, how you catch Pokemon is easy. You tap it once it appears and then its just a case of flicking the PokeBall at it in the hopes that you catch the Pokemon and then you can change its name, improve its abilities and so forth in the hopes to evolve it. So that's the main gist of it and in addition to that, you can buy things to help you catch more Pokemon and improve their skills which is an obvious micro transaction thing, but at least its not forced upon you unlike some games. As you play the game, you can move about, get a bit of exercise, meet other players and go to places like PokeStops (where you can grab some more PokeBalls and Gyms (which is pretty much the only way to have your Pokemon battle one another). When you reach level 5, the gyms become available and you can join one of three teams as you continue to catch and battle Pokemon.

So honestly, this truly is the next evolution in Pokemon games. Its great, it gets you moving and its fun too. Just goes to show that even some game franchises that are milked to death can and will get some innovation in their games, if any. Now got out and catch them all! 9/10.
