AC3: Random Movie Review - Monster Trucks

So monsters and monster trucks. Honestly its the dream combination that only a handful of people wanted and with Paramount at the helm, you know that its probably not going to be very good. I mean Paramount haven't really had a number of good films in recent years with Michael Bay making a ton of money on destroying our childhoods with them. But saying that, Star Trek and Mission Impossible seem to be the only two franchises they make that are still going strong. But going back to the film at hand, I guess that with the breaks he had from the X-Men films, Lucas Till was busy making this. So with nothing else to talk about, let's get behind the wheel and see how this plays out:

So this Oil company during one of its operations, manages to release three unusual creatures. They manage to capture two of them while the other escapes. We then cut to our main protagonist named Tripp (played by Till) who is sick of his life with family issues, bullies at school and a whole host of other things that every troubled high school student goes through in life. He is building a car in the hopes to escape this life. He finds the creature and learning a thing or two about it with help from fellow student Meredith (played by Jane Levy), they go about befriending it and helping it find it's way home, unaware about his escape from the Oil company.

Its not that great of a film. In fact, the plot itself is very predictable as it follows the plot of a creature escaping a secure facility where it was hurt and finds a friend in a random stranger and well you know the rest of it. It is annoying in many parts and it does feel like a disappointment for some. But at least you get your money's worth in that it literally is a monster truck if the monster is in the truck. So yeah probably not worth your time, but its good for a rental if anything. 6/10
