Random Video Game Review - Overwatch

I have never reviewed a Blizzard game before mainly because of how big many of their games are. I have tried a number of Mega Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games and games in similar genres before, but I haven't reviewed many because of the time required to play those games. So now we come to Overwatch, a game that I have been wanting for a very long time since its launch and I now finally have it thanks to its reduced price during the end of year sales. Its basically Blizzard's take on Team Fortress 2 so let's see if it was worth the wait:

Set sixty years in the future, the game follows a Terminator like plot in which there was a time where mankind were in a golden age of prosperity and technology development. But a crisis called the Omnic Crisis began which led to many robots becoming hostile and turning against mankind. As such, the United Nations formed a team called Overwatch to help combat these threats and bring peace to the world once more. But as time went on, we then get a Civil War like scenario that leads two high ranking members going against one another and thus began the end of Overwatch, but not for long. The gameplay is largely first person shooting in squads of up to six players with two squads in most of the game modes. As you'd come to expect, every character is unique and has their own set of skills with some being stronger than others and others being more defensive and so forth. Players can switch between characters in game which takes away the whole game over side of things which is pretty good.

There is a lot to cover with this game and other reviewers can tell you more about it themselves. But overall, it is a great online game. It does feel very much like Team Fortress 2 and did come out around the same time as the less popular Battleborn which itself had very similar gameplay. But despite that, it's a lot of fun and it's got probably the best graphics I've seen from a Blizzard game in a long time. It does however follow suite with other popular games with loot crates and microtransactions, but don't let that put you off from this otherwise pretty solid game which is still getting skins and updates to this day from when it originally came out in 2016. So play it is all I can say and the animations on YouTube are great too. 9/10
