Over the years there have been a ton of spoof films that make fun of various films in an attempt to make some comedy and other things. Spoofs nowadays tend to come from the internet and generally those who are on the internet do a good job of it. But between that and the release of Young Frankenstein, we got several spoof films that tried to cram in way too many spoofs and parodies that they just eventually became forgotten about and are just not very good. I personally find that if you do a spoof film, maybe concentrate on only one film but allow for some humour and some rudeness in the form of the Carry On franchise. So let's see what's in store for us here:
So if you know the story of Frankenstein's monster well, its basically almost the same story here with Gene Wilder playing the title role who is a descendant of the infamous Dr. Frankenstein. For those of you who don't know it well, its about a doctor who goes about making a living being in the form of a man. However this man eventually turns out to be a confused monster of sorts and escapes captivity to explore the world and find out what being human is all about while being a terror among various people.
As a spoof to one of the greatest horror films and books ever made, its actually pretty good. Its faithful to the source material, its humor is well timed and Gene Wilder is hilarious but probably a bit more scarier here than he was as Willy Wonka. Its a fun horror film and one that can be enjoyed by everyone during the scariest and darkest time of the year. 9/10
