AC23: Random Movie Review - The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

For years I have been trying to find the best way to review the Pooh films and in the end seeing as I have only ever seen a few random ones, I decided to review the very first one and then maybe over time I will think about looking at the other films. So as we all know, Disney are quite big when it comes to making films based on someone else's work. They have done almost everything including fairytales, comic tales and even some folklore too. Today we look at a film all about a little bear who has a thing for honey and has a few friends to have fun with. So let's have a look:

Like with some of Disney's animated package films, this film is comprised of up to three stories (four if you count the very short one at the end) with each one being connected to one another and are all about Winnie the Pooh (voiced by Sterling Holloway) and his friends. In The Honey Tree, Pooh has a craving for honey and chooses to pursue as such which leads him to a beehive on a tree and later on gets stuck in a hole as a result of eating too much of it. In The Blustery Day, Pooh misunderstands some information given to him and wishes everyone a happy Winds-day later on realising that its in fact a very windy day and trouble is afoot for him and others in the Hundred Acre Wood. In And Tigger Too, one of Pooh's friends Tigger (voiced by Paul Winchell) bounces way too much that Pooh's friends then try and figure out what to do about it leading to a series of shenanigans but ultimately ending up being Tigger's own adventure. All ending with a final segment that sees one of the key characters leaving to parts anew.

For what it is, its very good. Its faithful to the source material (and quite possibly the only one of Disney's many literary adaptations to do so) with lots of fun to be had. Its full of heart, all the stories are connected in a good way and its just a fun family film. It even has a rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes which for a film to get that really does speak volumes. 9/10
