Random Movie Review - Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Its been over thirty years since Matthew Broderick was on the big screen showing us all the shenanigans one can do in their days off. Since then, the film has become iconic, a cult hit and has even been deemed culturally, historically and/or aesthetically significant by the National Film Registry. It was also well known for being one of the first films to have a post-credits scene and anyone who has watched a Marvel film lately will know all about that for sure. So let's see what things people can do when they skive school:

A pretty straight forward story for an iconic film. The titular character Ferris Bueller (played by Broderick who you may know as the original voice of Simba from The Lion King franchise) decides to one day fake being sick to his parents in the hopes to have a day off school. He succeeds in doing this and manages to fool most of the people in his life. What follows afterwards is a lot of shenanigans, fourth wall breaks and a whole host of other things.

This is a great film. The story is relatively easy to follow, its a lot of fun and he may not have received awards or nominations in every category for the film, but I strongly feel that this should be Broderick's breakout film because it is such a blast to watch. It also does a very good job with its clever fourth wall breaks, the use of a post-credits scene and a pretty large cast. Great fun and definitely worth a watch if you need advice on what to do on your days off. 9/10
