Random Video Game Review - Little Nightmares

When it really comes down to it, most games that are advertised as dark and depressing tend to make them very good if not scary games in the long run. I've played quite a few of those games as well as surviving several nights of battling Freddy Fazbear and his pals so this seems to be the same. Made by indie studio Tarsier Studios while being published by Bandai Namco, Little Nightmares may just be the next big franchise to be originally an indie game. Plus with a sequel coming out next year, there is no time like now to talk about it (and hopefully not have sleepless nights in the process). So let's take a look:

The game has you play as Six, a little hungry child in a yellow raincoat who was trapped inside a vessel known as the Maw which caters to the whims of sick and powerful creatures. Six manages to escape but initially refuses to help the other children due to having moments of showing primal like hunger. A very interesting game that has plenty of puzzle solving moments and basically has the makings of a typical platforming game. Plus the presentation is pretty artistic.

Since its release, it has quickly become a new IP with a prequel game on mobile devices, three doses of DLC, comic books, TV shows and like I said a sequel that has its release next year. A pretty good game that gives us little nightmares, but probably doesn't have much in the way of innovation other than combining survival gameplay with that of the platformer. So yeah a decent game. 8/10
