AC10: Random TV Special Review - Mickey's Christmas Carol

Calling this a TV special may be an understatement considering that this somehow had a theatrical release. Nevertheless the running time is about average for a TV cartoon (26 minutes to be exact) so I'm going to count it in. So as we all know, there have been billions of takes on the classic Charles Dickens novel and for a lot of us, we hope that there are takes on it that try and do something new. So today's take comes from the House of Mouse as Walt Disney's beloved creations bring the story to life their own way. Though this came well after his demise, its good to know that his creations are still alive and kicking well into the present day where his company is dominating the planet. So let's take a look at this one:

So in this version of A Christmas Carol, we have Scrooge McDuck (voiced by Alan Young) as well Scrooge. Mickey (voiced by Wayne Allwine) is Bob Cratchit with the unspoken Minnie and their siblings making up the Cratchit family. Donald Duck (voiced by Clarence Nash) plays Scrooge's nephew which is kind of ironic as he is Scrooge McDuck's nephew anyway. And Goofy (voiced by Hal Smith), Jiminy Cricket (voiced by Eddie Carroll), Willie the Giant and Pete (both voiced by Will Ryan) make up the ghosts.

Pretty much the same story, but with various Disney characters (mainly those who are anthropomorphic animals) taking on various roles. Unlike most takes, this one has a sense of fun and has some clever writing to make it stand out. Its one of the better takes on the story I find and its largely good hearted as most Mickey Mouse cartoons aim to do anyway. Plus some Pixar staff were involved in its creation too. 8/10
