Random TV Show Review - Cloak and Dagger (Seasons 1-2)

So for a long time, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had a lot of superhero duos come about. Such examples include Ant-Man and The Wasp, Black Widow and Hawkeye, Captain America and The Winter Solider or Falcon, Hulk and Thor, Rocket and Groot, Iron Man and War Machine or Spider-Man and many more. While there are so many team ups yet to happen that will happen in the future like Doctor Strange and Scarlett Witch, its good to know that Marvel like pairing up their heroes which also speaks true for their TV shows. So this team up is quite literally a girl with a dagger and a boy that can summon a black cloak. Such bold well for an interesting story so let's get into it:

Season 1
The show of course focuses on the pair that have the titular powers. Both teenagers, Tandy Bowen (played by Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (played by Aubrey Joseph) learn of their powers to summon a dagger and a cloak respectively and although hesitant and troubled to work together and first, they choose to do so when they learn of the connections with the powers they have and choose to fight for good. In this season, the work together to bring an end to a corrupt police officer who was responsible for killing Tyrone's young brother because of a false claim that causes some kind of explosion. This series starts off pretty well and is the second Marvel Television series to feature young teens as the heroes (the first was Runaways which this show once crossed over with). There's is definitely some eye candy for teen girls out there, but for what it is, its pretty good. Both characters spend most of this season learning of their powers and how connected they are to them which bolds well for character development. Plus the adult characters perform well too even though some are more bizarre than others. So yeah a good series that started well. 8/10

Season 2
Its never easy for a short lived show to find a way to wrap things up in a short space of time. So eight months has passed and a gang war is proving to be imminent to both Tandy and Tyrone. The pair agree to work to try and stop the war from happening, but this soon leads to something more terrifying than a simple gang war that brings the past back and makes things a whole lot difficult for them. The second and final season does well to make do with what little it can do with the series cancellation and gets the two heroes at a stage where they can let go of their past and move on to become real heroes. Its a good season that does that while giving us some action packed moments and at least one instance where a fight scene turns into an actual video game kind of thing with pixels and everything which gives this series a bit of nostalgic value. A really good series and I do hope we see these two again real soon. 8/10

So yeah its a pretty decent show. Does well on exploring the true meaning of being a hero and how there can be more great team ups that isn't just a hero and his or her sidekick, but instead two heroes with equal grounds. Good stuff here. 8/10
