Random TV Season Review - The Mandalorian (Season 1)

So we continue on Star Wars by looking at what has been the most hyped series for Disney+ so far. Not to mention it also took the internet by storm with this "Baby Yoda" (though in truth, the name of this thing is called The Child but people are saying that because it looks like Yoda and looks like his unnamed species). Set in the thirty-year gap between Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes Back, we're in for something quite special seeing as many of us have been wanting the bounty hunters to take the spotlight after so long being in the shadow of the "more important" characters and being pretty underdeveloped too. So let's get cracking:

About five years after the fall of the Galactic Empire, the titular bounty hunter (played by Pedro Pascal, a name Kingsman and Game of Thrones fans will know of) finishes off a bounty before setting off to find and capture a being said to be fifty years old alive as his next bounty. But when he finds out that this being looks more like a baby than a fifty-year-old being, he takes matters into his own hands and decides to keep the child (played by various puppeteers and voiced by David Acord) in order to protect it at all costs. Though this leads to making a few enemies and unlikely allies from all manner of things such as the remaining Imperial forces, his bounty hunter guild and possibly others too.

As a series done by the great Jon Favreau as well as the first live action Star Wars series ever (as far as I'm aware), its good and lives up to the hype. We finally have a bounty hunter who is well-developed as a character who fights for what is right as well as maintaining the values and principles that his clan uphold. Its another solid entry in the Star Wars universe which did its job of being the main selling point for fans of the franchise to try Disney+. A superb series that's been a long time coming and maybe we'll see more bounty hunters enter the spotlight in the future as well as seeing more of this great series too. 9/10
