And so another great Netflix show comes to an end and I find it interesting that people are tricked into thinking that there was more than two seasons. The truth is that both seasons were split into parts and the show itself is not 4 seasons or whatever. I made that mistake in my review of the first season. But the second season is now done and Netflix have chosen to cancel it which for once may not be tied into the coronavirus affecting it. It's had a good run even if it's not what fans of the original 1996 sitcom (and its animated series) were expecting and this alongside Riverdale proves that the Archie Horror line of comics can be adapted well on screen (though I know Riverdale tends to be a more loose adaptation that combines elements from a mix of Archie comics). So let's see what the little teenage witch gets up to in this final season:
Sabrina (played by Kiernan Shipka) continues to be that witch who must find a way to continue protecting her loved ones while maintaining a dual life of being a witch and a mortal being. Throughout this season, she goes to hell, has a clone of her be made and starts to feel a bit lonely when all her friends are in romantic relationships while facing a number of demons and other enemies that she must defeat even if a cost comes into play.
Like I said, it's had a good run and this second season has been pretty good. It ended on a satisfactory but sad note and is more of less what I was expecting from this season. Its dark, has some horror and humour and while different from the sitcom, its still good fun. 8/10
