TV Season Review - A Discovery of Witches (Season 2)

You know during these challenging times, most of us forget that TV and film productions due for release are ones that had been completed either years or months or even weeks prior to release. Most of the time is used for filming, writing, post-production, editing and other things to make sure the production is on track for release. But some companies want something made so bad that they want it released on time regardless of the state that it is in and those things have gone on to become huge fails largely on the studio's part. Now we have the long awaited second season to one of Sky's most popular shows in recent times and while the ideas are nothing new, it's always nice to see a fresh take on all things magic, witches and the like. So let's see what happens in this second season (all episodes are available on both Sky On Demand and Now TV if you'd rather not wait till the next one every week on Sky One):

Diana (reprised by Teresa Palmer) and Matthew (reprised by Matthew Goode) arrive in 1590 on All Hallows Eve in London. Which is slightly off course from where they were heading, but nevertheless, they set out in an attempt to have Diana master her powers while evading all possible threats, human or otherwise. They make some new friends and enemies and even meet some ancestors along the way.

This second series is pretty good. Nice to see a new change of scenery and no episode is without action packed moments and a few moments of magic. Character development is also a big thing this time around and its an overall decent series. Some things could've been done better, but we are meant to have a third season on the horizon soon so let's see how that plays out. 7/10
