One of the few ideas George Lucas had for The Clone Wars was the idea of there being clones that were very different from any other clone out there. Certain attributes of them being different and so forth. So for that show's final season, we got a story arc featuring these particular clones and based on how popular this Clone Force 99 team were, work went underway to create a spin-off series featuring these characters. I guess not all clones are going to be the same with the accent, the fighting and so forth. Not to mention those chips that allowed a certain Sith lord to have them wipe out the Jedi (spoiler alert). So let's take a look and see what this "Bad Batch" have been up to since the story arc:
Not long after Order 66 is declared, the defective clones of Clone Force 99 (all reprised by Dee Bradley Baker) are forced to adapt to a new galaxy where Jedi are being hunted and clones are now working for a changed Republic turned Empire. They take on dangerous mercenary missions while also looking after one of their own, the young Omega (voiced by Michelle Ang) as the galaxy they once knew, becomes a far more dangerous place to be.
The first season of this cartoon is pretty good. It continues to use the animation that was used for both The Clone Wars and Rebels and what we get is something that's a lot darker than those shows, but still finds a way to include a bit of humour and action. It may have a lot of lore to go with it, but it's a great follow up to what had been a great cartoon and well worth the seal of approval from George Lucas himself who came up with the idea at first. 9/10
