Random Video Game Review - Planetary Annihilation

Yep, you guessed it. Another game on Steam that is currently on sale at the time of typing this post up. Created by some of the people behind Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander, this looks like to be a fun and possibly chaotic game, hence the name. It's had an interesting development and was also another game that got funded through Kickstarter rather than via investors which is usually a good thing especially as you would get fans right off the bat if the Kickstarter actually amounts to something. So let's take a look:

The game is pretty much an online game that can have up to 40 players in one round, with every round possibly lasting many hours. The game features a planet-based map which contains a number of different planets and moons that look like asteroids. Players are able to conquer planets, moons and even whole systems which developers have described as there being many worlds through the Galactic War that the game's premise is all about. All planets are dynamic in that they can, (as the name of the game implies), be annihilated using catalysts or other planets. Players will lose when their final commander is defeated.

This is one of those games that falls into that category of there being no end goal to it, even though the name makes out there is. Not too sure what to make of games that go about that, but for what it is, it's certainly interesting and fun for those wanting destruction of epic proportions. But if you don't have an internet connection to play this, you are kinda screwed. 7/10
