Random Video Game Series Review - The Karate Kid

Finishing this week of Karate Kid things, I thought it be good to review some video games. Yes even a franchise like Karate Kid has some video games, but unlike many franchises out there, there isn't too many of them. Not that I'm surprised or anything because compared to the likes of Star Wars, Batman, Harry Potter and others, they have had far more games that any other franchise out there that started off as films or gained more popularity as films. So we have three video games to look at. Two I will be doing through emulation and the third via Steam. So let's kick some ass once more as we delve into the three games that the franchise has spawned:

Part II: The Computer Game
So before you all bite my head off, I'll start by saying this was the first game of the series to come out. Completely based on the second film where you control Daniel LaRusso for much of the game. Facing off against various opponents in karate matches with a variety of moves to use, some more effective than others. After some fights, two bonus levels appear, in which you can play as Mr. Miyagi or LaRusso. There's also a two player mode too. The game, for what it is, does well to represent the film on retro platforms. It does the film justice and although it's not a completely perfect game, it's good. 8/10

The Karate Kid
The second game loosely follows the plot of the first and second films and is composed of four levels. Each of the levels being based on scenes from the two films. The main objective is to defeat a variety of enemies. Pretty simple and straight forward game with decent graphics for an NES game. Pretty darn good if you ask me, but perhaps it could've done with more content. Oh, well. 7/10

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues
Set at some point in the series, Cobra Kai's Hawk (reprised by Jacob Bertrand) and Miyagi-Do's Demetri (reprised by Gianni DeCenzo) are in the principal's office for causing chaos all over the valley. Both attempt to explain their respective sides of the story, which we then play in a typical 2.5D side scrolling fighting game with cartoon like graphics. Pretty good game that pays homage to the fighting games of old and makes it clear that the franchise is well and truly here to stay. At least for a while longer. 9/10

Although nothing groundbreaking or anything, these games are good enough to prove that even with a few mediocre sequel films, the franchise can still kick some butt. Bring on season 5 of Cobra Kai!! 8/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
