Random TV Season Review - Only Murders in the Building (Season 2)

Last year, on my "Best of 2021 TV Shows" list, I put this show on it. It's a pretty interesting show that continues the comedy that both Steve Martin and Martin Short are known for, but adding a bit of drama, dark humour and crime to make this a very interesting show. When the Star hub was launched on Disney+ here in the UK, this was one of the shows that I came across and because I enjoy Short and Martin's humor (especially when it's not corny or cheesy), I decided to give it a watch and I really enjoyed. Now we have season 2 where another murder has happened in the Arconia, and it's up to those two and Selena Gomez to once again solve it. Things may get interesting, so let's take a look:

Picking up from the cliffhanger that season 1 gave us, the trio of wannabe podcasters are themselves arrested as suspects for the murder of the Arconia board president and fellow resident, Bunny Folger (reprised in flashbacks by Jayne Houdyshell). But with a lack of evidence, the trio are released and are advised not to get themselves caught up in the case. Despite this and some good things happening for them, they soon realize that another podcaster known as Cinda Canning (played by Tina Fey) is doing a podcast about them. So they set about clearing their names while also figuring out how to go about their new offers for things and their own podcast.

The second season continues the charm and wit of the first with a fair bit of character development, more laughs and good representation of diversity (something of which a lot of shows like this could benefit from). No signs of slowing down and the possibility of another season, makes Only Murders in the Building the best kind of entertainment if you are into crime drama and dark comedy. 9/10
