Random TV Season Review - Chucky (Season 2)

Well, he is back for another season. Got to admit, I'm amazed that of all the slasher horrors out there, the Child's Play one still delivers films and TV shows that are part of the same timeline that started with the original 1988 film. As far as I know, there has been no more recent entries that are part of the original timeline for the Friday the 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street franchises. There has been a very recent Texas Chainsaw Massacre film and the last three Halloween films were kind of connected to the original 1978, but would otherwise forge its own path. So yeah, the slasher horror genre may not be as big as it used to be, but it's still alive and kicking with the characters we have all come to know and love or be disgusted by. So let's see what awaits us in season two of that killer yet hilarious doll that came before Annabelle:

Set six months after the first season, Chucky (reprised by Brad Dourif) is still at large. But as a result of this, people have become more aware of the dolls and for most, they are choosing to not trust them. Nevertheless, Chucky begins another campaign of killings through his various army of dolls that are still alive, all while the heroes continue to attempt to stop him. Madness and fun times await in this season.

Yeah, one of those situations where saying too much would spoil the season. But overall, it's a pretty solid season. Yes, there are times when it feels like a standard horror series, but there is the fun element to it (particularly in the later episodes) and the acting from the show's main stars are pretty good. Especially when they are all together. Plus, it's always cool to see a different logo variation every time the show starts, so yay! Looking forward to the next season, whenever that comes around. 8/10
