Random TV Season Review - The Muppets Mayhem (Season 1)

With there being so many Muppet characters, it's always nice to see the very overlooked and not so well known ones, get a chance to shine. Of course, Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem have always been regulars in the majority of the Muppet films and also in some of the TV shows too. But now after a trio of fans banded together to work on this very series, they are now the main stars. Honestly this could've also worked as a film, but a series is also good too, and I feel The Muppets have a good thing going on Disney+. So now we have a series, let's see what shenanigans this band get up to:

At the fictional Wax Town Records, music lover and assistant at the company, Nora Singh (played by Lilly Singh (coincidence they have the same surname)) is sad to learn that the boss Penny Waxman (portrayed by Leslie Carrara-Rudolph) is considering to shut down her company. But Nora discovers that Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, owe the label an album and sets about finding the band and have them make that album to settle that one debt. But as you'd expect from anything to do with The Muppets, things don't go quite as planned in this journey of self discovery, love, humour, family and of course, music.

You know, as the first Muppet thing to be centred on a group of Muppets other than the main and popular ones, this show is pretty solid. It looks and feels like a typical Disney+ show and, as you'd expect, has a number of celebrity cameos, and it does what it sets out to do. To give us the story of Doctor Teeth and his band the Electric Mayhem and also how they go about making this new album. It's funny, full of heart and plenty to enjoy from these often overlooked Muppet legends. 9/10
