Random TV Season Review - The Watcher (Season 1)

Sometimes I find that when you have a show with a few big names in it, chances are that the company behind it, is getting desperate and is willing to spend all its money to make something that everyone will, if you pardon the pun, watch. Based on the shocking true story, this is one of those shows where it just keeps you guessing who the true titular culprit is, and I like those kinds of shows. Sure, it is based on a true story, but a story that until now, I have never heard of. So let's give this *sigh* a watch:

Nora Brannock (played by Naomi Watts) and her husband Dean Brannock (played by Bobby Cannavale) pay a visit to an open house in Westfield, New Jersey, where they meet the realtor and old family friend, Karen (played by Jennifer Coolidge). Despite a few odd experiences, the couple buy and move into the house with their children, Ellie (played by Isabel Gravitt) and Carter (played by Luke David Blumm). But as they begin renovations, they get harassed by creepy letters from a being known as "The Watcher" which puts Dean into a spiral with determination to find this stalker and bring an end to his or her or their reign of terror.

This show is, generally, OK for the most part. While everyone involved acts their parts well, the show does this thing where it keeps us guessing who the culprit is and never truly answers the question. Just throws in more and more culprits and just when we feel the culprit has revealed themselves, it then doesn't. So be prepared for a lot of confusion and a few thrills here and there, but don't expect a truly definitive answer in this season. Who knows if the next season will make more sense. 6/10
