Random TV Season Review - The Santa Clauses (Season 2)

Even thought it's been a rough year for Disney, I will give them credit for trying to be as nostalgic as they possibly can, as well as trying to make sense of current social norms and all that. It has, in a way, cost them dearly with many of their films and TV shows this year, relying too much on all of that and it kind of makes them out to be not all that interested in originality. Well when I say that, I of course mean with their major releases that are not Searchlight Pictures or any of the animated stuff that isn't the third, fourth or fifth film in an already well established franchise. So here we have season 2 of the small screen continuation of the Santa Claus franchise that maybe some people wanted, but not many. But with the likes of Gabriel Iglesias and Eric Stonestreet among the cast this time, maybe it will be worth watching? Let's find out as we look at season 2 of this show, that is more OK if nothing else:

After exploring the Santaverse (or whatever it's called, I forget) in the last season, Scott (reprised by Tim Allen) sets out to once again see if anyone is willing to take over for him so he can retire. But when a new threat in the form of an old Santa that nobody wants to acknowledge (played by Stonestreet), the North Pole prepares for the worst. Especially when this old Santa decides to team up with someone who is literally known as Kris Kringle (played by Iglesias) and is the head of a failing Christmas themed, theme park. Christmas is in peril, but you already knew that.

This second season is, fine. It's nothing to run home to about, but it's heart-warming and has a few gags here and there. Honestly, it is setting itself up to have an explosive finale and I think I will watch it because it's actually not as unbearable as it may make out to be. So yeah, not much more to say there, but having the two comedy actors I mentioned earlier, really helps with the gags and so forth. 8/10
