Doctor Who Review: The Girl Who Waited (S6, E10)

Before I begin, There is an important matter I need to address. Some of you may have noticed in older posts that the image relevant to the post have been either blocked, changed or removed. This is because that some of the websites that I get the images from can do whatever they want with them as its their own website (like above where I've used an image from IGN). Also because I've been on holiday for most of last week, there won't be a song or video of the week. I'll start fresh this week. OK onto the review:

SPOILERS!!!

The Doctor takes Rory and Amy to a planet known as Apalapucia which is believed to be a holiday destination. While Rory and The Doctor go into the green anchor room, by accident, Amy enters the red waterfall room where then Rory and The Doctor discover that the red waterfall room has a different time stream to theirs. Even though they are separated, both rooms have a big magnifying glass which both sides use to communicate. But then things get worse as Amy then explores more of the planet only to discover a robot who uses kindness to kill. Rory and The Doctor meet the same robot and return to the Tardis. The Doctor decides to help get Amy back by having Rory use video glasses so that The Doctor can follow him. Amy finds a place to hide and puts a message on the door to tell Rory and The Doctor where to go. However Rory encounters a more grown up Amy who has waited 39 years to be rescued with having only a currupt robot who she calls Rory as companey. After some discussion and stuff, Rory is convinced that their maybe two Amys about and has The Doctor help him sort the time streams out so that both Amys are in the same stream. Both Amys come together and (with Rory) bravely fight their way through an army of robots to get to the Tardis. In a very heartbreaking moment the old Amy sacrifices herself to allow the others to escape therefore changing Amy's future. I'd would also assume that the robot Rory never exsisted after that.

Although very confusing at times, these episodes are what brings fans together to watch them and I enjoyed watching this episode with it having more action than usual. 8/10
