So this is it. The last episode. Will The Doctor die? Will Silence fall? Will it continue or end? Let's find out in my review:
MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!!
So we see that time has stopped and all of history are happening at once (Churchill is Emperor of the UK, everything is floating with balloons and Dickens is alive and well and reveals something about a Xmas special). We then cut to what seems to be Buckingham Palace and Churchill wonders why its always 5.20pm in the afternoon. He then asks his servants to bring a man in and he asks him about why time has stopped. the man reveals his face as The Doctor and explains to Churchill of a woman. After the title sequence, we then see The Doctor gathering information about The Silence from the Daleks (and yes people, this will be the only time you see a Dalek in the whole series). He then goes to a outer space bar of some sort to meet with a former leader of the Silence which is revealed to be the Teselecta from "Let's Kill Hitler". After a conversation with the captain, The Doctor asks the crew to send the letters out on his behalf as one of the letters will as The Doctor describes it "cross his own timeline". The Doctor then plays chess with another former leader of the Silence who tells The Doctor that only Dorium knows how it will end, but as we all know, he died during the battle at Demon's Run (When a Good Man Goes to War). However its then revealed that The Headless monks don't kill but rather separate the head from a body and let's both parts rot depending on their financial status which in the case of Dorium is very rich which allows him his own little box for protection. The leader then takes The Doctor to Dorium (and then falls into a trap and dies) and Dorium then tells The Doctor all he needs to know about his death. The Doctor then takes Dorium into the Tardis and continues his farewell tour (which as he describes that he would help Rose Tyler (S1-2, Turn Left, The Stolen Earth, Journey's End and "The End of Time Part 2") with her homework and would attend all of Jack Harkness's (Torchwood and certain Doctor Who episodes) stag nights). After concluding his Farewell tour, The Doctor arrives in Lake Silencio for his death which somehow results in an alternative reality thanks to some power drainage from River/Melody's spacesuit. We then cut to the present where Buckingham Palace is then invaded by a Special Ops team led by Amy who leave Churchill and take The Doctor on board a train to Area 51 which is now in a pyramid. Along the way, The Doctor has a catch up with Amy and Rory and then gets into his suit and enters Area 51. The silence are in their tanks and their activity goes up a notch due to The Doctor's presence. He's then asked by Amy to put on an eye patch to protect himself from The Silence as they head into the center of the base where River and Madame Kovarain (The Eye Patch Lady) are. The eye patches then start to electrocute and kill anyone wearing them which includes Kovarain and then, The Doctor, Amy, Rory and River go up to the top and then River and The Doctor get married and then all of reality is back to normal. River then goes to Amy and Rory's house (after a trip to the Planet of the weeping angels from S5) and tells them what The Doctor whispered into her ear. As it turns out, The Doctor was shrunken into the Teselecta so that he could fake his death. After that, The Doctor returns Dorium to where he found him and tells him how he pulled it off. The episode ends with Dorium telling The Doctor about the question which is "Who is he?".
A lot of this does make sense in many ways and in my opinion (although it was a bit bland throughout) it was a great ending to another great series. 9/10
And until Christmas, that's it for Dr Who reviews. Next I'll be doing Sarah Jane Adventures which will start this week coming.
