Video Game Review: Child of Eden (X360 and PS3)

Yes I know its been a while since my last Video Game review and I'm glad that I'm doing them again. This one I found would've been better as a downloadable game but when I played it I was impressed. So let's get to it.

Story:
So there's this girl called Lumi who loves being in a world of plants. But some sort of evil has threatened the place and has trapped her into what seems to be a space between spaces. Its up to the player to save her.

This sounds like one of those stories where you have to rescue a damsel in distress (which for Mario games is quite often) which is nothing new. For the story, its 7/10.

Controls:
There's not much to say about the controls seeing as its quite straight forward. As I'm playing the PS3 version, you use X to target and shot down objects coming at you, square to rapid fire objects (not as powerful as the targeter), O to use a special power that you can collect using the other two controls and the right thumbstick to move about. The game is also compatible with the PlayStation Move but I prefer using the Dualshock 3 controller.

Very straight forward so you won't have any problem there. 8/10

Gameplay:
There's a total of 5 planets to visit. Each of them takes about 5 minutes to complete which allows players to use all of the controls available. Each one will have a number of enemies to defeat with at least one boss fight as well. Then depending on how well you do, you get these stars which you'll need to progress onwards into the game and also some bonus content which includes concept art, cut scenes/cinematics and others as well.

Again very straight forward and you may have trouble first time as the levels start off easy but go harder as you go along. 7/10

Graphics:
The Cinematics/cut scenes look very realistic, very colourful throughout the whole game (and this is good seeing as its a 3D game), average PS3 graphics which are always good and that's about it. 9/10

Overall, if you want something to calm yourself down, then this is the game for it. It may have some parts which are cliched but still a great game. 9/10
