Video Game Review: Disney Universe (PS3, X360, Wii and PC)

From what I gather, this would've been a MMORPG if more work was done to it. However despite this, it's actually still a good game. Will it inspire the Disney haters to see what Disney can really do, or is this just a pile of pixie dust? Let's find out:

Story:
In an alternative universe to the various Disney worlds, an evil darkness threatens the worlds and its inhabitants. Now its up to the players to take on the challenge and defeat the darkness to claim back the worlds.

A very straight forward story with little detail. For a Disney game, this is OK. 7/10

Gameplay:
For those of you who enjoy the LEGO games (TT era) and LittleBigPlanet will enjoy this game as it combines the elements of both games with a few extra additions. Each world has about 9 levels to do with several objectives to do in order to continue on in the worlds (which will guide you via an arrow) and can have up to 4 players playing at once. Several Disney franchises are represented here that include not only worlds based on Disney films, but also Pixar films and various third party franchises (oddly including The Muppets). there are 5 characters for each franchise and can be upgraded by getting a blue star which will level the character up (with 5 being the maximum). Like with the LEGO games, the currency in this game are golden Mickey symbols which can be used to buy more worlds and unlock more characters among other things as well.

Overall, a great setup for any fan of Disney. 9/10

Graphics:
Graphics look mostly like the LittleBigPlanet graphics but only with more detail added. a vast amount of colour is used which make any game stand out and very humorous at times as well. Again not much to go on but still good. 8/10

Overall, its a good attempt by Disney to make something like this but with games like this already out there, this is nothing new. But despite that, still a good setup for anyone who loves Disney. 8/10
