AC2: Best Games of the Year: Batman Arkham City

Now, Batman Arkham City has been one of the most anticipated and best games of the year simply because it's the sequel to the best Batman game ever and features a whole load of new things to do like side quests, new ways to get Riddler Trophies, the ability to play as Catwoman as well as Batman (which enters the storyline somewhere) and possibly the most intense and darkest storyline to date with a good but predictable ending. Old comers in terms of villains like Joker, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Bane, Killer Croc, Victor Zsasz and Riddler (in the flesh this time) return to this game with some newcomers like Calendar Man, Two Face, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Solomon Grundy,  Ra's al Ghul, Mad Hatter, Clayface, Deadshot, Hush, Black Mask and of course Hugo Strange. One year after the events in Arkham Asylum, Quincy Sharp Buys a large acre of Gotham and puts all the inmates of Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Prison in there where they can control territories and fight for power. Bruce Wayne, a few police officers and a few political workers are also thrown into Arkham City and after escaping Penguin, Bruce transforms into Batman and goes to investigate the City but later on is poisoned by Joker and its then a race against time for Batman to find a cure for both himself and Joker, to bring some order to the city and find out what Protocol 10 is. You also are able to use new gadgets as well as some old ones, use new ways of hand to hand combat and find Riddler Trophies by solving puzzles. Decetive mode is back and better than ever and a new augmented reality training exercise is introduced where Batman can practise his new gliding abilities i.e dropping from a glide to pick up air.

Overall, I would strongly recommend you to put this game on your wish list because it is a great game and will keep you occupied for hours upon hours. If you wish to find out more then check out my review of this game which will be somewhere on this blog.
