Movie Series Review: James Bond 007 (Daniel Craig Era)

So as it's the 50th anniversary of this franchise, I thought to do a series review of the more recent films starring Daniel Craig. I may do the others at some point, but may not be for a while. So let's take a look:

Casino Royale
Serving as Daniel Craig's debut as James Bond in the series, Bond gets his double 0 status in MI6 after successfully killing a MI6 traitor. He is then sent to Madagascar in pursuit of an International bomb maker, which he is successful in taking him down, but soon finds out that is real target is a banker who serves the majority of the world's terrorists, Le Chiffre. Bond finds out that he is very good at poker (hence the name of the film) and enters himself into a tournament to foil his plans. I apologise if my synopsis isn't very accurate as its been a while since I saw the film. From what I remember, it starts Daniel Craig's James Bond very well and is considerably one of the best Bond films in recent years. 9/10

Quantum of Solace
In some sort of continuation of the last film, Bond is driving to Italy with a captured Mr. White with him. After fleeing from pursuers, Bond and his boss M, interrogate him in regards to his organisation, Quantum (hence the name of the film). They are then attacked by M's double agent bodyguard which Bond captures and kills, however Mr. White has fled. Returning to London, M and Bond then go to investigate the bodyguard's flat and discover that she has a contact with a person called Edmund Slate, who is working for the head of Quantum and also the main antagonist, Dominic Greene (which as you'd come to expect, Bond needs to stop before any more murders happen). Overall, it's an OK film. There are moments where you wonder what is happening, but despite that, it's still good to watch. 8/10

Skyfall
Marking the 50th anniversary of the franchise, Bond and another MI6 agent called Eve, are on pursuit of a mercenary who has a hard drive that contains details of almost all undercover NATO agents in terrorist organisations. Eve accidentally shoots Bond, causing people to believe that he is dead/missing. He returns to London a few days later after discovering that MI6 was attacked by terrorists through the power of hacking. Later on, Bond finds out information that a former MI6 agent has schemed a plan to kill M and various MI6 operatives and must get her to safety before it's too late. This was a great film that marked the anniversary on a high. I won't reveal any spoilers but be aware that you will be shocked by the film's outcome. 9/10

Overall, the franchise has been great and with the addition of Daniel Craig as Bond, it couldn't get any better than this. 9/10
