Doctor Who Review - The Name of the Doctor (S7, E13) (The Series Finale)

It's no surprise to many of us that all we want to know, is The Doctor's true name, but does this series finale do that? Lets find out:

So the story begins with a prequel on how much Clara knows The Doctor and how much The Doctor knows Clara. The actual episode itself, begins with Clara appearing in a number of The Doctor's adventures, with him not knowing of her existence. Meanwhile, Vastra goes to see a man in prison who somehow knows the Doctor's deep dark secrets and then calls a meeting with Jenny, Strax, Clara and River (yeah I know she has another name, but most people know her as River Song) using a method that doesn't involve meeting them all physically. It isn't long however when their lives are at risk, causing the Doctor to fall into a trap. Can he save everyone and what is his deep dark secret?

Overall, while I find the humour and acting to be at its very best, as well as the small tributes to all The Doctors out there to be great and the story to be great as always, the ending of it all is for me, disappointing. I won't go any further than that, but I will say that it shows a connection to the 50th special and it will leave a very long cliffhanger. 8/10

Now as this is the final episode, seems only fair for me to say what I thought of it. As a whole, it has been a very good series. Everything is at cinema quality, the acting is great, the stories in most of the episodes are great, but in my opinion, Clara is OK but could be better and as I said previously, The Ponds ending isn't the greatest ending, but it gave us the ending we hoped for. Finally, I missed it when the series had little to no 2 or 3 part episodes, but its understandable considering the work that was done for this series. 9/10
