Doctor Who Review - Nightmare in Silver (S7, E12)

So with there being a number of new things happening in the world of Doctor Who, the majority of which are new versions of certain things, do we really want to see another new version of something? Many of us would say that depends on stuff, but as it's the Cybermen, my answer is yes. The previous Cybermen were OK, not great just OK. And it was good to see a new form of them. But is the new Cybermen's debut any good? Let's find out:

The Doctor takes Clara and 2 children who are under her care, Angie and Artie (played by Eve de Leon Allen and Kassius Carey Johnson respectively) to a amusement park called Hedgewick's World of Wonders for a day out. However, upon meeting 2 characters, Webley and Porridge (played by 2 well known actors, Jason Watkins and Warwick Davis respectively) and a "punishment squad", The Doctor discovers that the amusement park was abandoned as it were, when Cybermen (who everyone except for our 4 time travelling friends, believe to have been extinct for years) came along and stormed the place as it were, and thanks to their new looks, are constantly upgrading to become the ultimate being. As with before, its up to The Doctor to stop them, while Clara is given command of the squad (who serve under her control for most of the story) alongside Porridge, while Webley, Angie and Artie get captured by the Cybermen, forcing the Doctor to rescue them.

Now in all honesty, there were parts that I liked and parts that I hated. I personally find the acting of Davis and Watkins to be great, but could have been more expanded than what we get here and while the new looks of the Cybermen have been long awaited by fans since the Cybus looks, they don't look as scary as before and lose a number of things that made them scary in the first place (like the voice which isn't as menacing as before, the overall look of them look too simple and it seems that they attempt to have the exact same personalities of the Daleks which isn't a good thing in my opinion). Considering this is the last episode before the series finale, the creators could have made it better and more epic, like I don't know, give us a cliff hanger. So all I'm saying, is that it could've been better than what we have here, just saying. 7/10
