Video Game DLC Review - Assassin's Creed 3: The Tyrannry of King Washington

So for anyone wondering, this is the first DLC review that I've done for the blog so far (inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood, technically isn't DLC for inFamous 2 so yeah). This is basically what happens if George Washington never left the position of president of the US. Set in an alternate reality, can Conner (and I'm going to call him that for this review, because I can't spell his real name) save the USA from this new king? Let's find out:

For anyone wondering, as this was a 3 part DLC, I will address it as a whole.

So this takes place a few months after the events of the main game, but set in an alternate reality where Conner never became an Assassin, all the Templars (including Haytham) were killed by Washington's forces and Conner's mother is alive. Conner wakes up in animal clothing, by his mother. As they approach a villiage, it becomes clear to Conner that Washington has gone mad with power and after he shoots Conner and his mother, his mother dies but Conner (thanks to his tribe) survives. With his tribe telling him to travel to the Sky World using the use of special tea, Conner (despite being told by his mother to not do that), Conner does that and over the course of the 3 episodes, he learns new abilities from each of the animal spirits that will help him take down Washington and his forces, but does Washington want to rule America or is something else, making him do that? Play to find out. The game itself isn't that much different to the main game. You still get the hidden balde (which Haytham leaves for Conner when he leaves the tribe to do Templar stuff) and all of Conner's other abilities  in addition to the new abilities which have a resemblance to some animals which all work to your advantage, but there is a twist in that you can only use the abilities when you have enough health to do so, as the abilities will drain over time. The unfortunate thing about each pack, is that your restricted to only one of the 3 open world areas from the main game and the naval gameplay doesn't come into it until Episode 3. I'm not entirely sure if you're able to use all your abilities after playing all the episodes, but the abilities will be very easy to handle for the most part.

Overall, while this set of DLC packs may just give you the same AC experience from the main game, the addition of animal powers are great and are used well, but because of the restrictions with each of the packs allowing you access to only one of the 3 open world areas from the main game, it's not the greatest DLC that I've played. Still, a lot of it is pretty good and for some of us, this may lead into AC4, but we'll see. 8/10

By the way, for anyone wondering, I'm only doing reviews of the DLCs that add some extra missions and story related material, not any skin, weapons or multiplayer packs, so if you want me to review any of those things, there's no chance of it happening.
