This will be the last one that I'll be doing before I have my break, due to burnout. Anyway, here's what's been happening this week:
SEGA News - A Partnership with the Ouya
For those of you that don't know what Ouya is, its the little console thing above that was made by Android. While this little device will be released later this month (althogh I personally am not sure if it will sell or not but we'll see), one of gaming's biggest giants, SEGA, have confirmed that in addition to a lot of indie developers, they too will be creating games for the platform. So far, SEGA will be bringing 3 games from Sonic the Hedgehog which will be Sonic 4 Episodes 1 and 2 and also Sonic CD. So despite being up against the likes of Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft, it's good to know that there are some big game developers that are willing to back up devices like this. Just as long as it sells of course.
Doctor Who News - 11th Doctor Regenerating at Christmas
As a lot of you are no doubt aware, it was announced on Saturday last week that Matt Smith will be leaving Doctor Who this year. The 11th Doctor has been with us for 4 years in a total of 3 seasons and a number of specials. The majority of his time has been great, but with all these complicated story arcs and Mr. Moffat's ways, its kinda hard to like him for what he contributed to the show in comparison to other doctors before him. Now as with all news like this, many people have been speculating about who the next doctor will be, even going as far as possibly having a female take the role (which a lot of my friends have said is a bad idea, which is a but feminist, but I understand their concern. I on the other hand don't particularly care about who takes the role, but as long as they do a good job of it, then I'm happy. It's likely to be an unknown actor like David Tennant and Matt Smith were). We can speculate about it all we want, but there will bound to be an announcement about it, within the next few months or perhaps we have to wait until the Christmas special to find out.
So it's now time for a small recap of the not so important news, which includes Nintendo resiting beatdowns from developers who claim they should stop making hardware and go multi-platform. They have also partnered with O2 to offer free Wi-Fi access to DS and 3DS owners in the UK and for the first time in thier gaming history (as far as I know) and they will not be doing a press conference at E3 and will relay on Nintendo Direct to deliver the news that everybody wants to hear (it's better that way in my opinion). Also E3 preparations get underway (and I'll be doing report on that very soon), Leonard Nimoy (who plays the original Spock in Star Trek) wanting to appear in next Star Wars film and South Park: The Stick of Truth is still alive and well (but being published by Ubisoft now, instead of the now defunct THQ).
