The E3 2013 Report

Well, E3 is now over so here's my report of it (please bear in mind that I didn't attend this year and that's unlikely to happen for a long time, so everything you hear from me, is what I heard from the news and from the streamed press conferences):
Microsoft

Now as with previous years, I had little to no hope with Microsoft and with their press conference on the next Xbox being a few weeks ago, I wasn't really sure on what to expect here. Good news is that the Xbox One (still think its a stupid name by the way) will be out in November this year. The bad news, is that it will cost an arm and a leg to buy it and with some of us in the UK going through a never ending ecominic crisis, you would expect them to be at least nicer than that in regards to pricing. They are also getting rid of the point system for actual money (gee, that's never happened before!!!) and a lot of sequels for games that I don't care about (Call of Duty, Halo and Battlefield to name a few). Also another redesign for the 360, plenty of new IPs which I may or may not like and some use of Kinect and SmartGlass as well. Oh and another thing, WE DON'T WANT TO WATCH TV ON THE CONSOLE!!! We already have that already. It's called a TV. Microsoft, you already have lost many devoted fans and if you continue to be this way, you will lose many, many more.

Sony

The main focus for Sony this time around was to show of the PS4 console itself and while the console does look pretty big, it looks like a good console. Sony did everything right this year, they showed off the console, the console's price which is £100 less than Microsoft so thank you Sony, they also said that it would be out later this year, presumably to compete with the Xbox One and plenty of games were announced (some will be exclusive to PS4). Additionally, they also mentioned that some services on the PS3 can be transferred over to your PS4 which includes PlayStation Plus. Overall, Sony have done well this year. Just wish they had more female presenters (and I put this down because it is a big issue that Sony have, which should be addressed). Oh and there was some small mention of The Last Guardian in that the game will be likely to move over to PS4, nothing big though.

Nintendo

As expected, Nintendo did not hold a press conference this year, which is possibly because they have already given us their next gen consoles, but they did however do a Nintendo Direct instead and as I was expecting them to, they showed off the next Smash Bros game (with Megaman and an Animal Crossing character, joining the roster) which will be coming out next year for both 3DS and Wii U. Also, the next Mario Kart game (called MK8 and for Wii U) will also be out next year, the next 3D Mario game (Wii U) will be out at Xmas and a number of other games were announced too. Nintendo, you've done we'll this year, keep it up.

Everyone Else

So with EA, they did a pretty good job. I know a lot of the games were sports games, but at least BioWare are working on some more games and it looks like Star Wars games are in the works too, so there may still be hope for 1313 but we'll see. Ubisoft have done a good job as well with all their announced games (with the exception of the Rabbids if course), more or less hooking me in to play them. The majority of the announced sequels, prequels and new IPs all look good (and yes, Kingdom Hearts 3 and Arkham Origins are among them) so this year's E3 has been a success. However what I personally want to see happening in future, is for Microsoft to be a little bit nicer to us, Sony to have female presenters in their conferences, Nintendo to keep gamers hooked to their consoles and for everyone else to just keep doing what they do best, make great games to keep us happy and entertained.

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
