Review of the Week

After a week of cooler weather (at least in the UK anyway) and some much needed announcements, here's what's been happening this week:

Nintendo News - Direct Recap
This week, Nintendo held not one but two Nintendo Directs. One which had anything to do with the Wii U and 3DS and another that was on their upcoming game The Wonderful 101 (which will be out later this month). Firstly let's look at their first one. Sonic Lost World (an upcoming Wii U and 3DS game as part of a 3 game deal with SEGA, both of which will be having different levels and some connectivity between the 2) will be out in October, Rayman Legends (a delayed game that was supposed to be out earlier this year) will be out at the end of August for AU and EU and beginning of September for NA and will feature some Nintendo exclusive content such as dressing Rayman and Globox as the Mario Brothers, the next instalment in the Art Academy series will be out for Wii U in the summer or autumn of this year and will be giving Miiverse users a chance to show off their art to the world, 2 Zelda games (A Link Between Worlds (3DS) and Wind Waker HD (Wii U)) will both be out during the autumn, Luigi will be making an appearance in the next Smash Bros game as a playable character, Animal Crossing owners can enjoy a WaraWara Plaza experience on the Wii U with Animal Crossing Plaza which they can use to talk about their favourite characters and to share their designs with the world and that is out on Wii U right now and Additionally there is also a Welcome a Friend promotion for the game which you can find out more on the direct video. And there was a lot of Indie games that will be coming out for the Wii U and the last of the Layton games will be out later this year. And that's it.
Ah yes. There is one more thing that I must mention (and believe me, this was by far the best way I've seen of making a big game announcement) which is that the long awaited crossover between Layton and Wright will be getting its English and American release on 3DS sometime in 2014. Now that's it. Looks like Nintendo are continuing to bring out the big guns, even if the Wii U sales are lacking, which is good. Now for the Wonderful 101 news. The game has had a mixed response from people, but the ND that is dedicated to the game,  should give you an idea of what its all about. However, if Nintendo decide to do another one of these, DON'T CONSTANTLY TELL US WHEN THE GAME IS OUT!!!! If you're that desperate for us to buy it, don't rub it in our faces. Its up to us to decide if we want it or not (and yes I will be reviewing this so don't worry).

In a round up of other news, Peter Capaldi is the next doctor in Doctor Who, Snyder wants a actor in his late 30s or early 40s to play Batman in the Man of Steel sequel (still don't get how that's going to work), PlayStation All-Stars is not dead yet as a game for iOS and Android devices will be coming soon and Marvel Studios has all their film plans sorted until 2021.

That's all from that (no, really that is it) so here's the week's film and video game releases:

Films:
Elysium (Most countries with more to follow)
Planes (Canada and USA only with more countries to follow. Will review this, but not anytime soon)
There are others, but those will be out in places like India so no point in me mentioning them as I have done before.

Video Games:
Planes (All current Nintendo platforms) (Worldwide)
Dragon's Crown (PS3 and Vita) (NA only. Already out in Japan and will release in EU later this year)
Tales of Xillia (PS3) (Worldwide)
Brothers: A Tale of 2 Sons (XBLA) (Worldwide with a PSN and Steam release coming later this year)
Guacamelee! (Windows) (Worldwide and already out on PS3 and Vita)
Papers, Please (Windows and MAC) (Worldwide)

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
