Movie and Comic Book Series Review - Batman: Year One

So has anyone ever wondered what Batman's first year of crime fighting was like? Well this is pretty close to that. In this story, we see Bruce Wayne beginning to become the caped crusader we all know and love while we also see James Gordon starting his career at the GCPD and this is just basically where the 2 of them try to get Gotham to understand them and their goals, which as a whole, then leads up to them becoming both friends and allies for many years to come. Some of you may find this familiar as Christopher Nolan adapted some of this story into his Dark Knight trilogy which has gone on to prove to be successful and iconic among fans, critics and moviegoers alike. So let's once again begin this review by firstly taking a look at the comic book series.

Comic Book Series
The comic is actually pretty good in the art style that its going for which looks great and kinda reminds you of the cartoon art you see in museums all over the world and in a way, looks very similar to those comic books about the police. The majority of the story has both James Gordon and Bruce Wayne telling the readers their thoughts about the things that happen around them as well as their feelings of Batman and the GCPD. The story begins with both of them arriving in Gotham which for Bruce's case, was after a 12 year absence training to be the vigilante we all know and love and in James's case, was a transfer from Chicago with his wife Barbara. Both become acquainted with the corruption and violence in the city and James becomes a Lieutenant at the GCPD while Bruce has a think about what he wants to do in life (apart from being the head of Wayne Industries obviously), before he decides to put on that costume and stop crime. Now as someone who loves Batman, this was a very good story with some great artwork and just shows us how James Gordon and Bruce Wayne get acquainted (or at least lead up to it). It also features an origin story for Catwoman as well, which despite being short lived, is also pretty good as well. I loved it a lot so this gets a perfect 10/10

Movie
The film is not that much different to the comic book series in that its the exact same story with a few minor differences and changes. For example, like with Under the Red Hood, it never references any member of the Justice League like the comic book does (at least once, it mentions something about Superman) and the art style is a little bit different as well. But a part from that, its a pretty good film that again is great, action packed and very enjoyable. It even manages to keep the thoughts that Gordon and Wayne had from the comic books as well. 9/10

Now unlike Under the Red Hood where there was a short film with it, but I chose to not review as it has little to nothing to do with Batman, this time around I am going to review the short film because it stars Catwoman and she is an antihero in the Batman universe so let's take a look at that:
This short film is a spin off to the film where we see Selina Kyle in her Catwoman costume taking down a crime boss called Rough Cut while also trying to stop a cargo shipment. That's it. Its OK for the most part (but definitely better than any other film that has Catwoman in the leading role, believe me) and it does manage to make up for her very small role in both the film and the comic book series and I enjoyed it. 9/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
