Random Movie Review - The Social Network

Now have you ever wondered how the world's most popular social network, Facebook, came about? A website that became everybody's preferred social network, was bound to get a film about it and having looked at the film and the source material, its good, but not great. Let's take a look at it:

The film is all about Mark Zuckerberg (played in this film by Jesse Eisenberg), a Harvard University student who on one night decides to create some kind of website that allows the students to rate the attractiveness of the female students, but this just gets Mark into trouble. The popularity of the site draws the attention of Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss (both played by Armie Hammer) and their business partner Divya Narendra (played by Max Minghella) who ask Mark to create a website for them which Mark accepts in doing. But this results in him making his own website called thefacebook which is using their idea which they believe Mark stole. And for the rest of the film, we see how the website evolves, how Mark dealt with all the cases against him about the site and how the Napster co-founder Sean Parker (played by Justin Timberlake) came into the mix.

It is a very good film based on a true story, but as I said, its not perfect as there are a number of inconsistencies with the actual true story, but for the most part, its pretty accurate. 9/10

Oh and for anybody wondering about my review of the Riddick films, I realise that in addition to Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick and Riddick, there is a direct to DVD film as well and as I haven't seen that yet, my review of those films will be done at a later date. Sorry about that. :(
