Doctor Who Review - The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant)

So here we have the 10th doctor, played by a Scottish actor by the name David Tennant. As Russell T Davis had another show that he was working on alongside Doctor Who called Cassonova, he decided to approach Tennant for the role (as at the time, he was in Cassonova) and Tennant accepted it, having wanted to play the part since he was a child.

Tennant's portrayal of the doctor is best described as being a more compassionate doctor where he gives his enemies a chance to surrender before anything else happens, but this more or less results in him trying to find ways to stop them, even going as far as killing them. He gives the character a bit of a sense of humour and some cheekiness in his character while also being light-hearted, sociable and easy-going. But when it comes to killing those around him, that's when he starts to snap in anger, especially when its without warning. But let's face it, in addition to all that, he can be quite rude as well, but in a good way. He dresses in a sort of smart casual way with a brown jacket and either a brown or blue looking smart jacket and trousers. He also has the sort of trendy looking hair with its sort of spiky look, making him more "with the kids" as the saying goes. Unlike the 9th Doctor, he speaks in a normal English accent and like with the 9th, he has his own catchphrases which normally are in a different language.

Tennant was around as the doctor for 3 seasons and a number of specials, all of which involved him being compassionate to his allies and enemies as well as being energetic too. He was the last incarnation of the doctor before the RTD era ended, however he will return in the upcoming 50th Anniversary Special next month alongside his companion, Rose Tyler. Unlike the 9th doctor, the 10th had a number of companions, all of which had some kind of emotional attachment to him, such as falling in love with him and just wanting to care for him and keep him company. In my personal opinion, he is one of the greatest doctors out there and his time as the doctor was great. 9/10
