Random Movie Review - Mrs. Doubtfire

A lot of you should know by now that when I hear of a great actor who passed away recently that in some way was part of my childhood, I feel the need to honour his/her work by doing a review of one of his/her films and in this case, I'm paying tribute to Robin Williams who in the afternoon of yesterday, was found dead, presumably of an act of suicide according to what the media has said. Better known to many as the guy with many voices who did the voice of Genie in Aladdin, Ramon and Lovelace in Happy Feet and also did physical acting as Theodore Roosevelt in the Night At The Museum films among many others. He's also a comedian as well. So let's take a look at one of his successful films that for reasons I can't quite understand, is getting its own sequel when it doesn't need one:

So our main character Daniel Hillard (played by Williams) is a talented, but recently unemployed voice actor who lives with his family in San Francisco. As any father would be, he is devoted to his three children Lydia (played by Lisa Jakub), Chris (played by Matthew Lawrence) and Natalie (played by Matilda herself, Mara Wilson) but unlike his wife Miranda (played by the new Aunt May, Sally Field), he is unable to discipline his children. As such, he throws a chaotic party for Chris which in turn, causes Miranda to have a divorce with him, making his life far more depressing than it already is. At the first trail, the Judge gives Miranda full custody of the children as Daniel has no job, nor a suitable residence. But when Miranda decides that she wants to hire a housekeeper that isn't her recently divorced husband, Daniel springs into action and with the help of his gay brother Frank (played by one of the three guys who provide comic relief in Mulan, Harvey Fierstein) and his partner Jack (played by Scott Capurro), disguises himself as a old female British nanny with house keeping skills which he calls Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire (or just Mrs. Doubtfire for short). Impressed with this nanny's credentials, Miranda calls Doubtfire in for an interview where she meets her and the children who don't recognise her as Daniel and as such, she gets the job. But how long will it last before Daniel's cover is blown?

Of all the Robin Williams films that I have seen, this is the one that I feel is the most light hearted of the lot and shows all the talents that he has well. The acting, story and overall feel of the film is great and I personally enjoy it a lot. Its one of Williams's best films and he will be remembered for not only this, but his other great films as well (well except a few that I think the Nostalgia Critic can say are his worst). Rest in peace man. 9/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
