Hey guys,
So as you may have noticed, there has been a lack of posts regarding the news of the week and the videos and song of the week too over this past month. Next month it will be back to normal with a full batch of reviews, videos and songs of the week.
Regarding film reviews, I will be reviewing The Theory of Everything, Paddington, Big Hero 6, Indie Game: The Movie and Kingsman: The Secret Service. I may also review Birdman if I have the time to as well.
Regarding video game posts, I will be reviewing 7th Gen ports (or in other words, a selection of games that came onto 7th Gen consoles and then were released on 8th Gen platforms), Indie Games (which Indie Game: The Movie will be part of) and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
I will also be doing a new monthly post which I'll explain more about when I actually get around to doing that so stay tuned.
Now its time for a theory:
Film Theory - What if the deleted scenes of a film were used in the film's theatrical run. Would it make it a better or worse film than it already is?
So a thing that I personally have been looking up recently is deleted scenes of films and the question I ask is if those scenes were put in the final film, would it make the film better or worse than the reception it has already got. Well in all honesty, for some yes, but for others no. Take the Lord of the Rings films for example. Because of their length and the fact that they were all based on 3 very long books, you can only go as far as having 3 hours max for the running time of a film and this made the films not as complete as you would want them to be. So then came the idea of having extended editions. This meant that while it would make the films longer, all the scenes that were filmed would be put in and in the case of Lord of the Rings, it works. But as for films like Transformers, its already too long as it is and that time is completely wasted on long battle scenes and too many explosions. So in truth, it varies depending on what film it is. Some deleted scenes would've changed the film all together for better or worse, but generally, when you go and see a film, it won't always be as complete as you would want it to be because of these scenes, but I think we can make exceptions for some films if everything works without the need of those scenes. Nuff said.
