A while ago, I did a list of what I believed to be the hottest female video game characters so it only made sense for me to do a similar list, but this time focusing on the hottest cartoon female characters. The criteria on this list is pretty much the same as the video game one, expect it will be for the cartoon female characters. Also all these characters on this list are those that I have seen in action and not on the list just because of their looks. Its more about looks at the end of the day. Also one character per cartoon so let's get right to it:
25 - Gwen Tennyson (from Ben 10)
So the relationship that Gwen has to Ben is kind of live a brother and sister love, hate relationship in the sense that they can't stand each other, but they and their Grandpa Max are family and ultimately they must stick together and do whatever it takes to protect their world from alien and monstorus threats. While Ben decides to choose one of a wide range of monsters, Gwen on the other hand, uses magic. However that's left for later on in the series and the other shows. Until then, she uses her intelegence and cleverness to get both Ben and Max (and other allies of hers) out of sticky situations and is a trained martial artist, having got her black belt in taekwondo so she can be a great fighter. She also has a very attractive look (well in the later series anyway) and with all that at hand, it makes her very smart, acrobatic and hot all the way through.
24 - Invisible Woman (from Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes)
In my opinion, all versions of Invisible Woman are hot to me because they all have good looks and can kick ass, but often misuse their powers. Ultimately though with this being a one character per cartoon list, I went with the version of her in Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes because of all the versions out there, this is the one that I like the most. She is attractive and can kick ass, but she is so far the only version of her that unlike other versions, doesn't get married to Reed Richards at the beginning of the series and the series mostly follows a more original story than straight from the comics which I think is the way to go with things as long as the originality of the story works. Check her out if you must, but I personally like her a lot.
23 - Misty (from the Pokemon Anime series)
I've never really been a fan of the Pokemon anime series or films but I was forced to watch it because my sibling liked it. I really did want to get into it, but I just couldn't. These days, I'm more acceptable of anime stuff, but back then I wasn't. That aside, of all the girls that are on it, many would put characters like Jessie or May on their list, but for me, Misty will always be the one for me. A lot of the time, I do feel that anime seems to be the same with all anime shows and its no expection with Misty. But she has something that just makes me like her and its not only the looks, but how she behaves, how she reacts to others and just how motherly she can be to her allies. I do wish she was still on the show, but for the time we got to know her, she knew exactly what she was doing (well maybe not all the time, but still) and many people just love her for the charm she has and the way she can be positive at times when everyone feels down. Good on you Misty and I hope you become the best Pokemon trainer that you can be.
22 - Violet Parr (from The Incredibles)
Now when many people do lists like these, they often go for Elastic Girl which is fine, but the only person for me from The Incredibles, is Violet. Now even though she is a teenager and is quite cute, there are some other things about her too. In fact, she's kind of 2 people in one. Throughout the course of the film, she hides away and is always afriad of what other people think of her. But when she puts her hair back, she is a changed character. She's more positive, more upbeat and will often look out for her family, especially her brother Dash and its only then that people start to warm up to her which is good. I like her for her looks and I like her for her personality too.
21 - The Nurse (from Animaniacs)
Yeah I think its fair to say that whenever you see a list like this, Hello Nurse from Animaniacs is always on it. Yakko and Whacko do have a point in that Hello Nurse is quite the looker and is often the victim in the show for adult jokes and some fetish as well as some sexual innuendo. Not really much else I can say really. She's just there for those reasons and she's always fun to watch when she comes on the screen. Just don't expect other women to be quite like her.
20 - Azula (from Avatar: The Last Airbender)
If I'm being honest, it was a really tough choice on who to pick from Avatar: The Last Airbender because there are quite a few good looking girls on there, not to mention that they all have great and distinct personalities. In the end, I went with Azula because despite all the cruel things she does, you just got to love a villain like her. I mean she knows how to be a b**ch towards people and just has everything that a villain should be. Cunning, powerful, evil, cruel and doing anything she can to rise up the ranks and be the best. Its just a shame that her downfall, turned her into an insane loonatic, but it did give us one of the best fighting scenes of the series I have to say. There is no villain that is quite like her and I just wished that I put her in my villains list a few years ago, but oh well.
19 - Anna (from Frozen)
Though she is a much more recent character than some of the others on this list, Anna is just everything that I expect to see in a strong independent woman in a Disney film. Yes she did start off being curious and not knowing who to trust and so forth, but throughout the film, you find that she is a very unique character who will do anything to protect her sister no matter what the cost is and I love that in a woman. I think when Disney try and make strong independent women, they do it right to an extent that makes them completely different to the typical Disney princess and I like that. I know some of you may not agree with that statement, but that's how I see things here.
18 - Amy Wong (from Futurama)
Now I like both Leela and Amy from Futurama as they are both equally hot in their personality and looks, but if I had to pick one of them for a list like this, Amy would be the one for me. She's cute, can often be seen as having some kind of split personality (that might just be me, but still) and she's very attractive too. But much like with Leela, she can look after herself as she can fight and she's rich as well as she comes form a rich family. What's more to like about her?
17 - Mystique (from X-Men: The Animated Series)
Now based on this list, you may think that I went with the wrong version of Mystique, but to that, I don't think that's the case at all. I think with the original animated series, it followed the stories from the comics well and this version of Mystique stays true to her roots and I think any version of her is hot in my opinion. She's cunning, she's a great field agent, has the ability to change into any person she wants which makes it easy to do some spying and she is loyal to Magneto. All that is what I expect to see in Mystique and whatever version of her there is, this one will always be my favourite (though if I were to have this list as a cartoon and live action one, then I would also consider the version from the live action films).
16 - Black Widow (from Ultimate Avengers)
Much like with Mystique, if this was also a live action list, I would consider adding the version of Black Widow from the MCU into this list. But as it is, I will settle with this version. Black Widow to me has always been hot in whatever version there is of her. But in this version, I feel it stays true to the source material and that's a good thing. She is very attractive and will use that to her advantage, she is very smart in what she does, she once took command of the Avengers without question and unlike the MCU, she is in a releationship with Cpatain America and works with him to overcome his problems. Now me saying that they don't get together in the MCU might be me just over-thinking things, considering that they did share a few moments in The Winter Solider, but I guess we will find out in Age of Ultron if that is the case or not. Anyway, so of all the animated versions out there, this will be the one for me in my opinion.
15 - Kim Possible (from the TV series of the same name)
Now its no surprise that when you have a TV show or film where the main protagonist is a woman, a lot of the time, the makers of those TV shows and films fail to make them strong and independant protagonists. In recent years, it has gotten better, but as many of us will know, it was struggling for quite some time. But among these female protagonists in cartoons, I decided to take a look at Kim Possible and I actually liked the show. But here's the thing, all or the majority of the main or reoccuring female characters all look the same as our titular character. I don't know if that was on purpose or just the fact that the animators didn't have the time to make each female character different, so in the end, despite all the female characters in there that are all hot to me, I had to go with Kim Possible herself. This is because she is the only one that looks human to me and she tends to do the most work in the show which is no surprise as the show is called Kim Possible. She's one of those characters that has to handle her professional life with her personal life as well and like most chaarcters, both lives will at times conflict with each other. She knows what she's doing, has a good personality and also good looks too. What's more to like?
14 - Esmeralda (from The Hunchback of Notre Dame films)
The film is one very bizzare and quite mature film that Disney has ever made, but it does stick to the rule whereby when you make a children's film, it has to have some kind of message in it and this one showed us to stay away from people like Judge Frollo and that Gypsies aren't as bad as you think they are (though that may be an understatement in itself). Anyway, so Esmeralda, a woman who knows her stuff, is able to fool those around her and looks good while doing it. Sure she has magic and sure she has a habit for caring for ugly folks and not trusting anyone of a high authority, but that's what makes her a great character. I would happiler stick by her whenever trouble unfurls because she is just one of Disney's great characters that gets overlooked for what she is.
13 - Mary Jane Watson (from Ultimate Spider-Man)
Now Mary Jane may be seen as a less helpful character than Spider-Man's former love Gwen Stacy, but compared to her live action film counterpart, this one can actually defend herself and can actually show that she has a bit of a romance with Peter Parker. Unlike all other versions of her, she has considered working for the Daily Bugle as a journalist like Peter Parker. With all that taken into account, this makes me like this version of her more than any other because of how she can help Spider-Man instead of just hanging around waiting to be rescued and she has a good personality to go with that and that's great.
12 - Daphne Blake (from Scooby-Doo)
I'm going to be honest, both Daphne and Velma are both attractive and hot, but for different reasons. In the case of Daphne, she tends to be the eye candy for boys in the sense that she looks great, but often gets captured as a result of her good looks. Despite this, I do like her in the sense that she tries to be positive in any scenario and I like the fact that many of us thought she would be Fred's girlfriend which the terrible live action films later confirmed, though to be fair, we all knew there was something going on between them for a long time. Not much else I can say other than that.
11 - Belle (from the Beauty and the Beast films)
I often hate it when Disney decide to have their Princesses be described or shown as damsels in distress or just there for the sake of all the girls out there wanting to be like them. Despite this, I do like it when in the films, Disney make an effort to have their princesses as helpful and independent as they can and in the case of Belle, its pretty much that with her. The film and its sequels show her as an independent and intelligent woman who shows a lot of care and love for both her father and the Beast and does her best to keep everything in order like anyone in a relationship would and I like that. Throughout the first film, we see her as someone who loves to read (hence her intelligence), can look after herself despite having to also look after her father and later on the Beast and she's just a wonderful woman who anyone can love just for how much she does for people and I like that a lot.
10 - Killer Frost (from Batman: Assulat on Arkham)
We may have seen her only once thus far in the Arkhamverse, but I already like her as it is. The film is all about the Suicide Squad who are a team of carefully selected villains who are currently in prison or something like that and are sent out on missions of what their commander Amanda Waller can describe as missions whereby you either live or die and as such, you're sent to places like Arkham Asylum to do those missions. Now in the film, there are 2 members of the team, one of which everyone loves while the other is the same, but in my opinion, only in this version of her is she actually hot. Killer Frost is what many DC fans can describe as the female equivalent of Mr. Freeze. The only differences are obviously the gender as well as the fact that Killer Frost is a fully fledged villain while Mr. Freeze is an anti-hero because ultimately he wants to keep his dying wife alive, but does villainous things to do so which his enemy Batman can understand. Anyway, so Killer Frost to me, only wants to get the job done so that she can continue her ways as a villain and ultimately, she is among the villains that survives in the end which makes her even more awesome than she already is. Yes so does Harley Quinn, but at least with Killer Frost, she understands why she got chosen to do this and just wants to complete the mission and leave it at that, which she does.
9 - April O'Neil (from the 80s and 90s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated show)
A friend of the TMNT and a supporter for them in what they do, April O'Neil looks like the kind of girl that knows what she is doing, expect for the fact that she has problems with her work. Despite this, the version of her to me is the definitive one. It stays true to her comic book counterpart (unlike the film versions) and that's great. She does very well to convince the good people of New York that the turtles are not criminals (which she eventually succeeds in doing), but is often used as bait for the turtles by their arch nemesis Shredder. Still, I think she does well in her role and hopefully in future versions of the TMNT, she can still be this way while also trying to help the turtles more than just being a supporter for their cause.
8 - Harley Quinn (from The Batman)
Now I think we can all agree that Harley Quinn is one of the hottest female characters that DC have at their disposal, but if it wasn't for Batman: The Animated Series, she would've never existed and wouldn't have been popular like she is today. The orgins of her in The Batman are different to her traditional origin stories in the sense that she never worked at Arkham before becoming Harley Quinn and instead, was a TV show host which was met with controversy because of her helpline hurting people more than helping and when it came to Bruce Wayne's turn of being on the show, this is when Harley Quinn reached breaking point as her show was put off the air, thus making her unemployed. That is until Joker recruits her and thus becomes the crazy and insane girl that we know and love. Compared to other versions of her, this verison acts more like an ally and girlfriend to Joker than just as his sidekick or second in command as seen in Batman: The Animated Series and other versions too. I like this verison more because of how different she is to other versions of her and because with this version, you can in a way feel sympathetic about her. But at the end of the day, whatever version you see, Harley Quinn will always be one of the hottest DC girls that ever lived.
7 - Batgirl (from Batman: The Animated Series)
So everyone loves the Batman Animated Series and I love it too. It sticks to the roots of Batman and his universe, it kick started the voice acting careers of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill and made DC have Harley Quinn as a main stream DC character. But of all the girls that are on the show and the rest of the DC Animated Universe, Batgirl is the one for me. Barbara Gordon became the Batgirl after wanting to help protect her father and in the show, would later become an ally to Batman and would assist him and Robin (Dick Grayson who would later on become Nightwing and the other Robin, Tim Drake) any way she can and would then have Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy as enemies. Its clear that she knows how to kick ass as well as look out for those that cares for which is why she's on this list.
6 - Shadowcat (from X-Men: Evolution)
So another one of the female characters from X-Men that I like is Shadowcat. With the ability to walk through pretty much anything in her path while also being able to send the conscious of someone back in time (though that was in the live action films, I don't know for sure if she ever did it in this show). Professor X has determined that her heart is with his school for gifted people as opposed to the Brotherhood of Mutants. Kind, strong willed and always ready for a fight, this girl really knows her stuff and her laid back attitude makes her a great person if not one of the most reliable of the X-Men which is why she's on the list.
5 - Princess Jasmine (from the Aladdin films and TV series)
Now here we have a Disney Princess who is a princess from the get go with her being the daughter of a Sultan in Agrabah. As such, she is one of the few Disney Princesses who is fearless, can speak her mind freely and is able to determine what is right and who she should care for which was indeed the case when she first meets Aladdin, her prince and now husband. I do think that there are some people in the world who can be vulnerable to almost anything, but Jasmine on the other hand, can be one of those people that knows how to trust people the way that many should do it and that's why I like her.
4 - Wonder Woman (from Justice League and Justice League Unlimited)
And now we have another one of the hottest DC characters, but unlike the previous entries, this one has no association with Batman other than serving aside him in the Justice League. Wonder Woman is in my opinion a very tough and strong woman who unlike others in her home Themyscira, I guess is more accepting of men which shows when she is among the few heroes called upon by the Martain Manhunter to stop a threat that can very well destroy the Earth. She spent the series being one of the founding members of the League, often having some kind of relationship with Batman, having some kind of hostility with Hawkgirl and as a result of her leaving her home land, she got herself banished and has been through quite a lot in the DCAU. Still, I like her for her looks (though one has to ask, does she ever get cold with wearing that costume), her personality and the fact that she and Batman (one of my all time favourite heroes) did have some kind of connection. This is one great woman who knows how to fight. Its just a shame that she never got her own cartoon series like Batman and Superman did, but there's hope.
3 - Ariel (from The Little Mermaid films and TV series)
One has to like Ariel because she is very different from other Disney Princesses in the sense that unlike others, she can rebel and she has a child. Also as the name of the film says, she is a mermaid. a half fish, half human creature who lives under the sea. Of all the Disney Princesses out there, this is the one that I find the most attractive because of her red hair, her kindness and aspirations and maybe because she shows off the most flesh compared to other Disney Princesses, just saying. And even when she was without her voice, she still managed to get her man and was able to stop Ursula as well with assistance from Eric. She is independent and strong as well as rebellious and that to me, makes her a great character and what I believe to be the hottest of all Disney Princesses out there.
2 - Jessica Rabbit (from Who Framed Roger Rabbit)
Yeah, it was obvious that Jessica Rabbit would be on this list. I mean there is no question about it, she is hot. I mean really hot. Roger Rabbit is a lucky animal to have this for a wife, someone who will do anything to protect her friends and her lover as well as being eye candy for all the men out there. And let's not forget that we saw a bit more flesh from her than we're used to seeing in cartoon characters in that one scene. But I think many of you may be wondering why I've put her at number 2. Well I believe that there is someone who is much hotter and cuter than her, but before that, here's some honourable mentions:
Miss Martian - An incredibly hot character in Young Justice that I would put down, but didn't want there to be any cheating
Jessie - She is a nice looking anime character and all, but not really hot for me unlike other people
Elastigirl - I like Violet more, what else can I say.
Katara - Like I said earlier, it was a tough choice and both her and Azula are the ones that I find very hot in the series, but ultimately, I went with Azula.
Elsa - I do like this character, but I just feel that Anna is more of a hard working character than Elsa.
Leela - As I said, it was tough between her and Amy, but Amy got it because she's more cuter.
Shego and Bonnie - As I said, can only be one character and they all looked the same to me.
Clover, Samantha, Alexandra and Mandy of Totally Spies - All very hot and attractive, but no room for them.
And of course there are so many others out there, but these are the ones that are worth mentioning. Now for my number one choice:
1 - Starfire (from Teen Titans)
Now when you look at her comic book counter part, you get very disappointed at what you see. But ultimately, this version tops all other versions for how beautiful and cute she is as well as the fact that she can also kick some ass with her alien powers. And much like with other aliens, throughout the course of the show, she tries to understand everything that all humans do while also trying to work out things like girlfriends and boyfriends and other things too. She has a close bond with Raven and is the love interest and later girlfriend of Robin. And when she kisses someone, she can then speak their language. I wish I could do that. Now I'm not sure if you would count having aliens on a list like this, but I do like Starfire a lot, perhaps more than the others on this list and that's why she's my number one choice.
So what do you think of my list. Is there any that I missed out? Well feel free to leave a comment below. Tomorrow, I give you the top 10 best film studios and distributors.
