Review of the Week

Happy 1st of May everyone. Let's see what has happened in the last week of April:

Marvel News - Joss Whedon wanted a Daredevil film
So you got the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A franchise like no other which has films released in theatres and TV shows broadcast worldwide, all existing in the same universe as one another. You then also have a few comics and some short films and the universe is all set up. The first Avengers film showed that this universe does exist and has thus far proven to be a huge success and breakthrough for Hollywood. So much so, that countless studios are trying to have a go at it as well. But here's the thing. There are just some things that just don't work. Joss Whedon who's commitment to the MCU has been a big one, this week admitted that he wanted Daredevil to work more as a film than a TV series and pushed Marvel to go that way, but this ultimately never happened and instead we have the Netflix series. But unlike most people, Joss Whedon was ok with things not going his way as he knows that the show has been doing well thus far. Now of course, if a Daredevil film was happening, chances are that people won't see it because of how FOX handled the film many years ago. But you know, its kind of good to hear that the guys at Marvel do like their characters and will push to make things better so that's great.

In other news, Guillermo del Toro reveals information on a Pacific Rim animated series, Warner Bros. apparently hired countless writers for their upcoming Wonder Woman and Aquaman films while they also rethink on advertising their San Andreas film, BioWare's next Mass Effect game may just make you a renegade ass according to reports, James Cameron is determined to make at least 4 more Avatar films, a sequel to Watch Dogs may be in the works according to one Ubisoft employee's resume, Paddington is getting a sequel, Robot Chicken and DC prepare for round 3, the cinematographer of the 6 Middle-Earth films passed away (RIP), NFL have Marvel helments to commemorate the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Konami may be next in line to kick the bucket.

Now onto the week's film and video game releases in most areas:

Films:
Far from the Madding Crowd (Some areas with more to follow)

Kerbal Space Program (Linux, OS X and Win) (Worldwide. Review coming soon)
Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown (Linux, OS X, Win, Android, iOS and Ouya) (Worldwide)
